Wish I was there to enjoy all the bands and the fans and to forget for a while the antics of our lunatic government. I hope the weekend goes well and everyone enjoys themselves. Safe journey everyone.

Yeah, enjoy y’all🤘 I’ll say it one last time - can’t someone record and share a JCQ gig, for those of us who’ve never got to attend a gig! 😉

Another good night at Minehead with Big Fat Mama, in my opinion the highlight.

This may be controversial just my opinion of course but a very underwhelming performance by JCQ.Only came to minehead really as he was supposedly hanging up the sticks and this was his last gig seemingly not though .On this performance maybe the time is right. Jeff Rich have a drum masterclass and did a great solo he’s still got it,even if not my favourite Quo drummer(that’ll always be Pete ). Really good set from Big Fat Mama from Sweden, highlight of the weekend for me . Cheers

I think the recognition of John's declining capabilities, unsurprising in his mid-70s of course, is what has lead to the decision to make this his farewell tour & to restructure the set in the way they have. The mellow, semi-acoustic section with JC on the congas & then the long break mid show are a good idea for John's well-being. Whilst the set with his drum tech whilst JC has a rest allows the band to pick up the pace a bit & rock out with the audience - those who've got the energy! Interesting that JCQ might continue without JC, it'll certainly be a bit livelier than the JCQ gigs we've become used to over the years.

Just watched Quo'd very good 1½ set from my local band. The full Hello album and in order, the album version of Mystery Song and a 15 sec version of Margarita Time in the Medley.

Did Francis make a surprise appearance to say goodbye to his pal of 60 years and play a couple of numbers?

That's 15 seconds too long in my opinion. Anyway by accounts the JCQ set was not up to the usual high standard. That's a pity, as you would have thought he would like to have gone out with a bang. But at least we all have our fond memories of him when he was part of the best hard rock band in Europe! I have not been to a Quo convention, maybe if there is one next year, I hope to go.
