I have seen this one though. That came up today on a different SQ page. Seems like Quo are popular now.

Looks like an import single but not one I've seen before. Or I certainly can't remember it. I see Alan has his heavy rock wristband on and Spud has his heavy rock belt. While Rick has a Bay City Rollers scarf Francis is wearing a shirt. What, in 1974? Nothing changes

Heavily filtered, fan-made image. Completely unofficial.

Gotta say, Fortified, easily the best Quo-related username on this site! 😁

I have seen this one though. That came up today on a different SQ page. Seems like Quo are popular now. Always wondered if the peckham Unionist building in the background is still standing ?

You made me curious dontthinkitmatters . I've searched online. The actual club, according to wiki closed in 1892 and became the new oxford and cambridge club until 1920. And I can finding paintings of the same building during this time. But we have this photo from the 70s to show it lasted long after this. It could still be there and now an evangelical church. Or it could have been pulled down. Here a painting from those earlier days. The artist is Tom Keating (1917 - 1984) I would guess post 1940s going by the age of the artist. I think the low rise tower blocks in the distance, are in this painting too but he's made them less prominent than the photo. Interesting that the sign lasted so long after its use changed.
I've just found this info under the painting. I knew the name Tom Keating was familiar. He was a famous art forger. The info is not correct because it says the building was demolished in the 1960s. Maybe they mean't late 70s because that would be when the Quo photo was taken. And though rather dilapidated, the doors are open, which suggests it was in use. This is what the website tells us about Mr Keating. "This local scene is typical of many of the works in the Southwark Art Collection. It shows the club house of the Conservative and Unionist Party situated on the corner of Commercial Road in Peckham, South East London. A girl in a yellow jumper chats to a well-dressed man, perhaps a member of the club. The building was demolished in the 1960s. This painting is attributed to Tom Keating, a trained restorer and rather unsuccessful commercial artist. Turn it over and you get a modernist abstract in pastel colours that provides a clue that things are not always what they seem. Keating became a consummate forger of Old Masters. He deliberately left signs as to the true nature of his fakes that could only be determined by careful and scientific examination. He was arrested in 1977 and his prolific output under the names of masters such as Rembrandt, Titian, Cézanne and Samuel Palmer was revealed." artuk.org/discover/artworks/peckham-unionist-club-peckham-hill-street-193306

And thanks Fortified Hundred Times for sharing where the original photo for the fan version came from. Now I know why I'd never seen it before.
