I can't remember what lovely person on this forum sent me the incredible rip of this album (quite a while back), but thank you!
Enjoy!

Me, you're welcome, glad to help.
Coincidentially, yesterday I was in a record shop and this album was on the Status Quo section. It's the second time that I find this version, which is quite rare.

I thought so. Thanks again! I was trawling through my messages trying to find the one it was sent via, but I gave up in the end I've been intending on getting a copy for years. There was a copy on ebay quite some time ago that included the press release sheet, but I never did buy it.

No wonder Quo's belated attempt to open the American market stalled if they thought this was commercial. Shockingly bad remix. Maybe the Osmonds were happier with Mr Klein's input.

No wonder Quo's belated attempt to open the American market stalled if they thought this was commercial. Shockingly bad remix. Maybe the Osmonds were happier with Mr Klein's input. Apparently Rick and Francis supervised Steve Klein on the remixing on the album... so how on earth they let him butcher songs like: Living On An Island (it could have worked had the electric guitars not come in so abruptly during the outro), and Whatever You Want (cutting the intro, a verse and bridge after the solo, and doubling up the solo with something that sounds like it was the initial guide track)... Some songs did benefit from this, giving us longer intros and studio endings as opposed to fade outs.

The remix of WYW yes, it's butchered and, well, for a song that repeats over and over for 40+ years, but it's a little bit fresh, at least, hearing things that wasn't there before. But for example, I really like the remix of Island, after I found it, this and the backing track are my most repeated versions of the song nowadays.

Living On An Island (it could have worked had the electric guitars nor come in so abruptly during the outro) My favorite part.

Bown is spelt as Brown on the credits and the timings are wrong.
