As mortfied says these releases are not really aimed at the hardcore fanbase unless its a deluxe of an old album or a rarities live one or boxset. The presence of yet another re recording of caroline, rocking all over the world, and paper plane probably confirms this? However not really sure if the asda bargain bin browsers would be interested in obscure b sides or album tracks but if so could be a healthy way to promote recent material and maybe coax a few casuals into exploring the band more than greatest hits etc. The remixes of tracks from 3 years ago may encourage a few die hards and completists to purchase it and the expanded version includes an unreleased live show in part. It will be interesting to see how the deluxe version of Heavy traffic sells as this is something the dedicated fan base will probably go for in the physical format. Chart positions mean diddly squat these days and you can be number 1 one week then Number 91 the next.Pre orders and download have changed everything really The midweek chart is really the one to look at if anyone that bothered now👍 The show was wrongly labelled as unreleased. Westonbirt was available on CD at the show, and there-after for a short while via LiveHereNow.

Thanks for all your work there! I wasn't aware of an edited version of ICT - all the versions i've heard across the various compilations (Collected, Pictures, Quoin' In) are all the same length - 4m12s. When you say edited, are you talking about length, or something else? I haven't the ear to go through them all!
It's about 3:39. It's edited just like the Single versions of Mystery Song, The Way It Goes, Little White Lies, ITAN, Accident Prone, LOAI, etc. are. Same mix, but some parts were omitted. In this case, the second time the main theme appears it's cut in half and segues to the second set of verses using the same arrangement as the first theme segues into the first set of verses. The solo is also cut in half and then the last part of the pre-chorus is edited in. Then the outro fades sooner than on the full version. This edited version was used on some TV appearances and it was available on Spotify, if you would search for it, as a Single (only one track). All the compilations used the full version.

It's Christmas Time is the edited version; not the original version. I think it's the first time this song is made available for purchase (you could stream it on Spotify, for example, if you searched for it). It means it's the first time you get the track as lossless. And it's really lossless. It's not like the original version and its usages on compilations, where it's just a lossy master (audible MP3 data compression artifacts and frequency only up to 16000 Hz). This version, despite being lossless, still has a rolloff at 19000 Hz... By the way, the Quo-eoke Mix released with the original CD single, is also lossless and has frequency info up to 22050 Hz. Thanks for all your work there!

Finally I could hear the new versions/remixes.
I like the remixes, now the drums aren't a cardboard box. It's a shame that all the backbone songs weren't remixed that way. The new versions...Meh. If I haven't been told that the drums are from a live recording, I would noticed strange sounds and artifacts anyway.

It will save me lots of time not having to wade through a load of crap songs. Let's hope you 've made the right choices.

And your point is? It was always pretty dull, the original in particular both sonically and musically. I doubt I'll even play it. Disagree. The original is pretty good imo. Not in comparison to what came before but, on it's own, it's fine Sorry, but it's a crap song. Even the John Fogerty version has no redeeming features. And from the first time I heard Quo's version I abhorred it. I still do.

I just think it's a good sounding pop song and it does it's job for a lot of people. Tbf, worse was to come...A lot worse

... Tbf, worse was to come...A lot worse If you want proof, just buy this new compilation. Haven't even looked at the track listing tbh. Loved every second of my Quo life. 25 years. Great memories and nights with Rick, Francis, Alan, John, Rhino, Andy, Jeff, Matt and even Paul but, I was done after Dublin 2014. No disrepsect to the line up now but, when I heard Backbone and I couldn't remember any tracks the next day, I knew it was over. In my opinion, they could get away with it without John and Alan, despite the very noticeable difference in sound but, not without Rick. I've seen Rick drunk at two gigs and he never missed a beat! He was always on it and delivered, even when Francis was half arsing it. It genuinely annoys me and always has how Francis refuses to look in the mirror and blames everything on everyone else. The Knighthood latest is ridiculous. Rick was pissed, never missed a beat or cue yet he's half arsing it. What's his excuse? He portrays Alan like some sort of alpha male yet he's the only one, out of every member, that has ever come across like that. What's the reason behind that? In my opinion, these days It's like opening the window and shagging the night. There is nothing there for me anymore. Wonderful musicians, class drummer, good little rhythm player but, everything I loved about the band has gone. Will always be my number one and will defend and love them to the death!* *Except on here. I'll vent on here 😂

Backbone (remix) Cut Me Some Slack (remix) Face The Music Liberty Lane Running Out Of Time We could probably come up with a decent tracklist if we all pooled together. Your attempt makes some things better and some worse. I don't hate "Mystery Island" like most here, but I wouldn't put it on a best of. I'd also lose "Nevashooda" and "My Old Ways" and replace them with "I Ain't Ready" and "Let's Rock" and/or "Frozen Hero". And although the official release is definitely stretching it, I would have included one or two tracks from Under the Influence too - that album is pretty much the blueprint for almost every album to follow (except Backbone, which I find more in line with the 70s songs). I heard Backbone and I couldn't remember any tracks the next day When I first heard Hello!, I couldn't remember any tracks the next day except the ones I was already familiar with. Sorry mate, but that isn't a particularly strong argument.
