Anyone reckon Quo may be asked to perform at this? No doubt Cliff Elton and a few of the usual people will be invited..

Platinum jubilee? How many years is that? She seems to have a jubilee every 5 minutes Quo did something royal at the back of the palace a few years back. I think. Not sure what that was for. It was on the Beeb and they performed (obviously) Rockin' All Over The World. Not very well as it happens. Rick's harmonies were all over the place if I recall.

Are you thinking of the Concert for Diana back in 2007?! See www.leehawkins.com/NoFrames/Reviews/jul07.htm#diana (and, yes, I know all of the photo and video links are dead )

If this year is the platinum jubilee, it might have been about 10 years ago. Was there a diamond jubilee or something? I'd say it doesn't seem like 10 years ago either but I always have to bear in mind that it's now more than 5 years since Rick passed!

I too think you are thinking on the concert for Diana at Wembley . It garnered perhaps some of the worst criticism on the message board , even from those who are more moderate in their views. It transpired that he couldn’t hear properly through his in ear monitors that day .

Yes watching that concert just made me think thank god they didn’t play Live 8. Ricks vocals were Sadly godawful. I think his vocals improved massively let towards the end of his life. From what I heard in the 2014 time he sounded better than he had in years as I remember.

From what I heard in the 2014 time he sounded better than he had in years as I remember. Done a gig in Cork the following day, after the Diana gig. His vocals were fine and were for years after for RAOTW... So on the day, either he didn't warm his voice up, he had been drinking or he couldn't hear himself properly. I still think it was an unnecessary dig at him for it by Francis in his book. Then again, that book reads like an internal monologue. A struggling conscious
