Thinking of Rick this weekend

My best friend always texts me puns on the deceased names when a celeb dies. A light relief basically.

I remember leaving my house, was starting to drizzle rain, I was on my way to a pub where I usually spend Christmas Eve, just sat in the corner alone, with a few shorts and he text me before I'd even left my estate... "Shit man, Parfitt is gone. It's breaking news."

I didn't hit me. I was just shocked. We knew it would happen. No one lives forever but, he always seemed to be someone who could be hit by a bus and he'd get up and say, "Not a bad life really eh?"

Its only over the years since I've gotten more emotional about it. Apart from my impending baldness, I modelled myself on him in every way since I was a child. My style, my walk, my sense of humour, my stance, my rhythm playing on guitar, my mindset on rock music, even my fucking boozing 😂😂

Anytime I put a music video out or do a gig, I get a lot of Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson digs, "Ooo you're robbing from Freddie and MJ"

Yes, well and truly missed.
I was driving on M25, (must have been about 2:30 in the afternoon) and my son was flicking through the radio stations and one was playing RAOTW! I complained saying “why do they always play that one?” then at the end the terrible announcement came…..
