Little Dreamer and Perfect Remedy were dropped in the middle of the tour due to Rick and Francis having sore throats, so even with it being a short tour they still weren't played for the whole thing. 5 professional recordings were made on that tour Five? I'm counting three, the two N.E.C. gigs, Glasgow. What are the other two? Wembley? Or you are refering the acoustic radio show? I think the general criteria might be being lost somewhere along the line but my own view is that if a song only ever appeared on bootlegs and nowhere else, that makes it rare. To me anyway. As someone who never really dabbled all that much in bootlegs. Yes, that could be a good line too.

As someone who never really dabbled all that much in bootlegs. I quite like this as an idea. You could still include stuff like Fun Fun Fun because the BBC box missed it off of Brighton, and we wouldn't need other (inferior quality) versions of things like Who Gets Your Love. Obviously I'd make an exception for full versions of things that have only been "released" as parts of medleys.

I'll be getting these up at some point, as I have copies of the master boot tapings.

And one of those rare beasts; a Rossi/Parfitt composition. There obviously is a rationale behind things but there seems on the surface no rhyme nor reason why some songs didn't get a fair crack of the whip in the set. They've dropped some real beauties very quickly over the years. But they stuck Restless in the set two years running! Go figure If there is a rationale, it is deeply flawed

I think they might be so used to playing the favourites literally thousands of times, when it comes to testing the new material, they are disproportionately critical of how it flows in the set, how the crowd react, and maybe most crucially, how difficult it is to play. Given that they changed the formula and abandoned the development of songs together in the studio for "the performance" as Alan put it, the less organic approach in the studio yielded less material that felt like live material because it demanded a more clinical performance, or, probably with a lot of it, was impossible to recreate (which is why things like backing tapes came into play).

Fabulous to hear No Problems live again. It's one of many songs I thought should have stayed in the set. Or at least appeared on and off over the years. But then I'm biased. I love it Another wonderful Rossi/Parfitt composition. On the rare occasions they wrote together, they really did produce some absolute gems. Shame they couldn't stick each other
