Anyone know what gig this footage is from? Nothing at all in the videos description about it.
TV show is "El Gran Musical", and it will be from one of the 5 shows in Spain in May 1992 - Rock 'til You Drop tour.
Want to upscale the brief live footage, and I want to title it appropriately
Thanks in advance!

My guess, based on the tour list, it could be Madrid May 5, Pabellón del Real Madrid (then Raimundo Saporta, now demolished). The other cities are strange to record just snippets for a TV show, and some other bands were recorded on the same TV show and the snippets shown were from Madrid. The interview was recorded in Madrid too. Rick mentions "[...]last night in Santander[...]", which it wasn't correct, they played in Torrelavega, in the same Autonomous Community as Santander, so the interview must be recorded on the day off between Torrelavega and Madrid.

Legend. I was thinking Madrid from the start, with some of the songs from the show being broadcast onto radio. It's now making me wonder if the full thing was recorded and possibly kept in the radio archives. Down Down and Roll Over Lay Down were obviously captured visually. A good bit must've been captured for them to be using the soundboard feed. Otherwise, it would've been camera captured audio

The audio from the video can be soundboard, yes. I don't know if 40 principales recorded the whole gig. Seems a possibility knowing RAOTW, ITAN and WYW were segued in the setlist but RTYD is on the encore. But who knows. Maybe, to save tapes and money, they just started the recording, to say, Dirty water to the end. I still don't know why in that era the radios just broadcast few songs most of the time. Why not the whole gig? The radios still need to get the rights to broadcast anything, and it cost money to bring something to record it.

All depends what kind of radio programme it was being used for, and how much time they were allotted. The Spanish radio broadcasts from 1991 and 1992 are both brief and have the radio host talking in-between and over the start of songs. It also depends what they were capturing the audio from the sound-desk to for the broadcast. The likes of the BBC had mobile recording units outside of the venues for the likes of the NEC 1982, Wembley 1988 and Brighton 1996 recordings, whereas I can guarantee that these were captured to DAT or the likes of. Cheaper, and quicker for them to broadcast as they don't need to remix any tapes. Just find it bizarre that they used the soundboard audio for such a small amount of footage, but I suppose the same could be said for the Amsterdam 1979 news reel. A German TV film from 1978, that Quo were filmed live in concert for, didn't even use soundboard audio from said show (14th February 1978 - Deutschlandhalle Berlin) Be good to know if these things still exist without the radio DJ's interruptions, but it seems to be a pain in the a**e talking to anyone for the Spanish archives. They'll say they don't have much, and then show a snippet of something completely unseen on a TV show (POMM playback performance from 1969)

They'll say they don't have much, and then show a snippet of something completely unseen on a TV show (POMM playback performance from 1969) It's a completely pain in the a** the DJ chatter. I remember seeing Motorhead on the Rock in Rio Madrid TV broadcast and three people saying nonsense sentences in between songs or wrong biographical things about the band, and being irritated thinking "And those three people are receiving a paycheck with MY money. WHY? WHY? JUST SHUT UP", don't know why every TV or radio station in Spain needs to have those people to talk in between songs, like the Madrid '92 broadcast I think, which the DJ says something like "Oh, yes, this is one of my favorites, Rockin' All Over the World (and then he mis-translated it with) Rock for everyone!". SHUT UP YOU MOUTH, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ENGLISH, WHY I EVEN CARE WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?. As we say, Spain is different...Which is in ironic tone. As for the release of videos from RTVE, I give up years ago. I wrote a very polite message on the Facebook Messenger of the account, asking if they can release everything they have on the archives, specifically asking some of the Aplauso shows (even with the dates of broadcast). In the same moment I send it, it was read by them...I'm still waiting for an answer.
