Almost there with my 'After B2B' compilation - running at 45mins on 2CDs [so that it's similar to an 'old' LP's length!] But... Can anyone help me with these tracks please? Can't find Lossless versions of... You Let me Down Lucinda Obstruction day The madness
🤞😉
So, um... folks can anybody give me a dig out with these 4 songs please?? Tnx, G

A bit late to the party but I put Quo in to three categories.
Pre '70
70-76
Post 76
To me, as a song, RAOTW is far closer to Backbone than Mystery Song.

Yep - that seems fair enough I s'pose. My 'dividing line' here is Pre- and Post- Alan [i.e. BB2B and AB2B] but "to each their own" !!

So, this is where 'The Compilation' is [so far] I might have some of the original sources wrong - I'm not sure tbh, esp. some of those Oz versions and B-Sides - I'm hoping someone'll correct those that are wrong!
Dust to Gold -QPQ Who gets the Love -AC One Man Band -RTYDrop Solid Gold -HT You'll Come Round -XSAllAreas Keep 'em Coming -UTI Heavy Daze -RTYDropDeLuxe Mysteries from the Ball -RTYDropDeLuxe Rhythm of Life -HT Power of Rock -PRemedy Gotta get up and Go -TPAOY I ain't ready -TPAOY-OzTEdn I ain't wasting my time -ISOTFC Shine On -UTI You Let me Down -TPAOY Lonely -ITAN Thinking of you -XSAllAreas Two Way Traffic -QPQ Lean Machine -AC-2006bonus The Reason for goodbye -AC-2006bonus Another day -HT You let me down -HT-Oz Blues and Rhythm -HT Lucinda -You'll Come Round singleB-Side Bad News -ISOTFC Twenty Wild Horses -UTI Face The Music -BBone bonus Cut Me Some Slack -BBone Don't Mind If I Do -AC The loving game -?? Obstruction day -Twenty Wild Horses single Burning Bridges -AC + LiveAQ A lot of very good material there. My favourite era is 1970-1976, secondary 1977-1981, but even though the post Alan Quo may not have similar runs of great albums (though 1999-2011 is very good), a lot of very good material can be gleaned across most releases. UTI to QPQ was a mighty fine album era (excepting TPAOY, decent but not great). Coincided with me discovering the band in a big way in late 90s so that era does have a charm of it's own.

So here's what my final 2cd set looks like! At last, a 'Post-B2B' album that I can stand to listen to all the way through! [and, btw I really can't say that about B2B either!!]
Thanks to those who suggested songs, etc. [esp. sqcollector who helped with 4 songs] I just couldn't have listened to all the stuff that I just can't listen to to get to this list!
I've kept each disc to around the 45min mark to try get the 'feel' of an old LP - [to me] when Quo did their best work!
I know that folks won't agree with the songs or the order I've chosen but it works fine and dandy for me!
D1 01 Two Way Traffic -QPQ 4.00 02 Keep 'em Coming -UTI 3.28 03 One Man Band -RTYDrop 4.29 04 You Let me Down -HT [Australasian Release] 5.06 05 Solid Gold -HT 4.13 06 Lonely -ITAN 5.09 07 Gotta get up and Go -TPAOY 4.20 08 Shine On -UTI 4.49 09 The loving game -AC 4.24 10 Dust to Gold -QPQ 4.51 [44:44]

It will be hard finding a good cover photo for your double album and a fitting title, although Solid Gold (Bars) might be an option?

Hmm - I didn't think that far into it tbh, charles!! Maybe I'll leave it to the Paintshop [or whatever it's called!?] crowd!!

Right, 4th chord, make this one happen: we need an absolutely stunning cover for this double album release: Life after Back to Back. (We need another title too; something catchy and snappy)

A lot of it comes down to production and a different rhythm section as the songwriting on the whole has not changed that much. As an example, look up the demo version of 'Invitation' from the If you can't stand the heat deluxe album, and then listen to the final album version that made it on to the 'in the army now' album, both are played to 99% the same but it doesn't sound the same - at all, there's like, something missing. ----------- gerh you should listen to 'moving on' from quid pro quo as well, it's got that catchy chorus with plenty of balls.

I actually have a copy of QPQ - I remember thinking at the time, "huh, they're not shite anymore". Then came 'Bula Quo' and 2 'Aquostic's, and... yep, shite again.

(We need another title too; something catchy and snappy) hey charles, I just thought [given the seemingly endless divisioning (?) and to-ing and fro-ing about what are/is Quo since AL+JC] how would 'A Can of Worms' work as a title!!?

A bit late to the party but I put Quo in to three categories. Pre '70 70-76 Post 76 To me, as a song, RAOTW is far closer to Backbone than Mystery Song. largely agree with that, '70-'76 they could do no wrong for me the subsequent years have a demarcation point when John leaves as there is a further significant change in the sound & feel of the recorded output, & again after Live Aid when the change in rhythm section markedly changes the live sound too far away from the sound of Quo my ears are listening for. I'm sure the further changes in drummer & rhythm guitarist might be significant to the sound of the band, but they're already too far away from what I recall as "Status Quo", to my ears anyway
