Sounds better live than the studio mix.

I know it's a fave with many but I have to confess it became one of only two 'skip' tracks on the album for me. The other being the title track, obviously.
It's alright of course. Just nothing special.
6/10

I prefer play it with the guitar/bass rather than listening to it, but I never skip it. For You for example yes, never like it, almost every single time I skip that.

Was always enjoyable live where there was a great crowd
Otherwise im the same as mortified, it gets skipped with the title track. It's.... alright

It's a good song, but not one of my favourites & the live performances never did much for me either

10!
Francis likes country, should have stuck with the likes of this, Claudie, FFF etc. Let the band members have creative freedom to create a song that will last
The idea of telling others what to play (It's been proven and Rhino plays the same bass lines on a lot of FR's stuff) is the worst thing possible! Looking Out For Caroline is 90% of everything I've heard from Francis since 1988.
For balance, Rick was a lazy fucker and Alan's writing on 1982, wasn't great IMO and Jeff and Rhino wrote one of my fave tracks on AC

Decent audience participation. Gives the band a breather….good live!

The best recordings of this song, live, are between '88 - '92. In later years it sounded shit - with them having to drop the key, and the crowd weren't as into it.

A skipper indoors and an "Off to the bog song" live.
Last year my daughter said I was making a noise under my breath at seemingly random times. I was concerned that I'd finally gone, involuntary noises etc. The riddle was solved while watching tv a whole year later. There's a charity ad for water aid and when the ad says "Everyday she drinks dirty water" I mumble "Oh, oh, oh, oh".

Dirty Water and Marguerita Time aren't exactly polar opposites.

To add - Quo played this during a soundcheck during one of the EU "Back On Tour" shows

Can take it or leave it [usually the latter tbh!]
Yep - I always thought FR's solo was great too [awkward to play tho] [And FR's "whoa-oho-oh" intro/audience participation invite really grates on my nerves]
