So I've finally found the time to give my opinion: it's great. 82 minutes of Maiden can be a bit much though, but there is so much to savour here. Especially side 2 is outstanding, galloping nicely. Someone compared "Death of the Celts" to Lizzy's "Roisin Dubh" and they weren't wrong: it is exhilarating to hear Maiden's three guitarplayers, each with their typical style. It is a pity there are no shorter songs that pack a punch such as "Death of a Clown" from the last album, but Senjutsu as a whole is good, really good. Incredible if you consider their age, so do not call them vintage. So far it might become album of the year for me.

Just back from Graspop Metal Meeting. Maiden were incredible. They started with 3 new songs (Who does that?), cherry picked through their back catalogue, even performed Clansman. I never tire of this great band.

I never tire of this great band. Disappointed I cannot see them this tour, they're playing Belfast soon. Loved the last tour in 2018 I think it was, also Belfast. The album I've been revisiting of late; those last three epics in particular are absolute standouts. All three full of great melodies and dynamics.

Next tour will be for the fans, not the festival ctrowd; they are going to perform their latest album in its entirety. Again: who does that? Balls of steel and confident of their new material.
