I know there are a one or two fans on here. What does anyone think?
I don't wish to be unkind but it sounds like a poor man's Judas Priest to me. A 70's/80's Priest at that. But no doubt it will be insanely popular with your average Eddie aficionado.

It's not one of their best, but I quite like it. Can't say I'm a massive Maiden fan, I've probably half a dozen of their albums. And regrettably I've never seen them live. This track is from a new album isn't it? What's that like ?? Anyone heard it ?

I'm 50/50 whether I will listen to the new album
They can't write short songs anymore and have gone proggy. That's fine, I really respect that they have evolved
Book of souls, the last one, has amazing music on it and was critically acclaimed
But god its hard work. It took me ages to get into it, it's not instant. There are songs that do very little for 6 minutes, then you get 10 minutes of sheer brilliance
But it feels like an endurance test. Not sure I've got the energy to be arsed with it this time!
Maiden being maiden of course do everything they way they want. I would enjoy them a lot more if a dictatorial producer took out the bloat. There's about 40 minutes of genuinely world class music on book of souls. But it's a double album

I'm not their biggest fan. I haven't seen them live since 1981. I also saw them support Priest the year before. I cannot remember the line-up. I think Paul Di'anno might have been the vocalist the first time and it could have been Bruce Dickinson for the next one where they headlined. Couldn't swear to it though. I get confused about that period because Mr Dickinson was also the singer with Samson when they supported Robin Trower in 1980. Anyway, enough of the history lesson. I've never heard a Maiden album all the way through. I bought all of their early singles up to Run To The Hills then I didn't bother after that. I've obviously completely missed the point over the years. I think it might be because Bruce's voice irritates me. Once more, my loss. But I did think this new single wasn't bad (i.e. 70's/80's Priest ) which is why I put it up here.

What if no-one is a big fan? Like Def Leppard? umm, 4th - I think there's some words missing there, 'cos I genuinely don't know what you mean [btw, I can't stand Daft Leotard so I'm not offended or anything!! ]

I stopped 'being into' IM after Powerslave and always preferred the rawness of DiAnno Maiden anyway. Just sayin'!

Somewhere in time is my favourite Maiden album, brilliant. Original and unique
All of them from the 80's are well worth having

I lost interest after 7th Son the pinnacle of their career in my opinion. Or maybe I’m just stuck in the 80s 🤪 Cheers
