There is nothing to be said for the ukulele. It has no redeeming features as an instrument. It makes you look naff and it sounds naff. George Formby nailed it forever with his 25-minute version of When I'm Cleaning Windows in 1940. The original had only been 2½ minutes long but he ended up jamming it on stage one night with the Joe Loss Orchestra and it brought the house down, so he kept it in the set. After the war, he was asked why he didn't play it anymore and he said it became like watching paint dry

Rick would probably have approved and perhaps Rossi as well as both fans of the Ukulele. Rick more so. Joe Brown presented them both with a Ukulele when Joe was support on the Quid Pro Quo tour.
