Only spotted this today, maybe its known by others on here. This short SILENT clip shows Quo (from start to 51 seconds) playing at the 1968 NME awards on 12th May. Probably the first colour images of them! I presume they're playing POMM. Interesting little clip.

I know the speed is probably a bit wonky but it looks too fast and active to be POMM. My guess is it's most likely an early [aka 'flowery'] version of Slow Train

There's also a little bit of colour footage of them (not on stage) from 1969 here, while we're at it. Exactly one minute in. Fwiw, that NME gig was Brian Jones' last Rolling Stones gig before his death. Quo's set was apparently Pictures of Matchstick Men, Black Veils of Melancholy and Gloria

Both fascinating clips. Ta for those. Both 100% new to me. I once saw one of those NME award shows on TV when I was a kid. No idea what year it was. All I can really remember is a performance by Amen Corner. Because my mum thought they were awful I see Barry Gibb got his award for being dapper Personally, I preferred Quo's gear. And it got even better

Nicely synced Quoincidence! Cheers! Should've used this audio the first time around, but here's one with the live performance of POMM from the Vienna 1969 show dubbed on;

'Fraid I was never a fan of early Psycho-Quo [still not!] so I could only listen to that once - but I watched the video on mute [while listening to the Beatles @ the BBC] and I'm wondering what the hell AL and RP are doing with SO many single leg 'big-wading-bird' poses? I enjoyed that bit fersure!

Not sure where you're going with this

That Vienna recording - although the vocals are woefully inaudible - shows that even before their switch to boogie, Quo were a far heavier live band than their recordings would have you believe. You can totally hear the power of that rhythm section. Observe John twirling his sticks. They really moved around way too frantically, just like in the TOTP clip! You need that energy for playing, not for flailing madly about

Not sure where you're going with this [Uh - it loses something in the explaining but y'did ask so...] Quoincidence is Luke and I was saying "well done" on his editing/sync-ing skills.

Bet the one man band got a good reaction ๐ Don Partridge if I remember rightly. He had a no.1 (I think) back in the late 60's. He probably went down quite well playing his 'hit'.
