I've heard worse songs by Status Quo, this is not so bad. It's never made me cringe, feel ill, made me angry, it's just a jolly little singalong that did very well for the band. Is Ease Your Mind much different? I like this dreadful "straw that broke the Quoamels back" a lot more than I like Mountain Ladies,Giving Up My Worrying, Who Am I?, For You (Oh no, no, no, no, no, no-oh-oh),Again & Again, Let Me Fly and Fine Fine Fcukin Fine..so there!

Quo's record/music companies have got many things wrong over the years but releasing this as a single before Christmas wasn't one of them. Of course, their agenda is different from most of ours. But who's the daft one? I have this single in 4 different vinyl formats Or is it 3? Can't remember if it ever came out as a 12" single. Possibly not. CBA ((c) railroad007 ) looking. Just 2, regular 7" single and picture disc 7" single. I don't know how it is possible that it isn't a maxi single remix, the last 2 singles were the first for them. There was a double single with a gatefold sleeve released just before Christmas. The additional single was a copy of the original Caroline/Joanne 7". The B-side incidentally showing a writing credit of Lancaster/Parfitt when the first release only had Lancaster. Sad ba$tard that I am, I noticed that at the time Some internal "negotiating" going on back then it would appear

The 12" Military Mix single The 12" Military Mix single with a poster Oh, and the Military Mix CD single There also different labels variations on the 7" singles as well!! As for the Joanne writing credit, I have two copies of the single from 1973, one with each writing credit. Just like I purchased two copies of Paper Plane, one with the swirl and one with the silver 'stamped' label. I was indeed an anorak from a very young age!

I remember asking the bloke behind the counter in Virgin (or wherever it was) after I'd been in about 4 times to get the latest version " right, are there any more?" He said there weren't but I never really believed him and kept on looking on a daily basis. I probably still missed a couple I thought I was an anorak but now I find I've fvcked up the Who Asked You lyric from the very beginning. Really annoying Lying low in every cloud? I mean, what the fvck does that mean?

Agree Railie, there are worse songs!! But apart from Again and Again I don’t agree on the tracks you’ve listed but each to their own! For me, the straw that broke the Quoamels back was In The Army Now

I mean, what the fvck does that mean? Cheers Mort, I can go full Melody Maker pretentiousness on this one. "Lying low in every cloud" obviously refers to the writers anger and frustration in finding that fame in the music business exposes the deep lying juxtaposition between creativity and critical acceptance. Or...you need your ears tested.

So how come Bob is in this video he was long gone no?
They had to have someone nearby to pull Iain out of the pool for insurance reasons.
Bob was so used to sorting the band members out he would have done it without thinking.
