spent a few hours here yesterday, very enjoyable with lots of memorabilia. They had numerous guitars, with background on each, with one cabinet that had Status Quo above it, with no details. Any ideas where this is from ? Attachments:

Never ceases to amaze me how much people know on here, even the most obscure things tend to get answered, especially when its guitar / tele related If I had to guess I'd say Andy donated it

Well it's a Fender, and at first glance its not been played much by looks of front, but it looks like its had a refurbishment as there's wear on the back.. and a dedication
Is there any documented history? Rick played a lot of guitars on stage sometimes only once or twice. Doubt it was Rossi.

Well, it's got Rick's autograph on it and what looks like "Francis 88" although the signature doesn't resemble the way he currently signs things. The dedication on the back isn't all that legible but starts with (I think) " Fender Guitar" and finishes with what looks like " on the front cover of Guitarist" before someone's signature. A reference to the magazine by the sound of it. Anyone have any back issues of that mag from way back? I think it might be well played but has a new scratch plate. That's way less battered than the rest of the guitar.

I think that's a good spot Gra, I still cant ever recall him playing it live on stage. .
He got through a lot.of guitars, maybe it was a practice job?, he hit the steings very hard live which would have left its mark on any guitar, but not so.much when practicing, and as Mortified pointed out, pssibly new scratchplate

It couldn't be of Rick. He used the 3th string of nickel, or whatever the material was. The strings looks thinner as the standard of Rick.
Maybe it was used by Francis on some TV shows. He uses most of the time other of his backup guitars for that.
