Steven Wilson has made a name for himself as a remixer now rather than a musician, and his remixes of older prog albums have been praised. What could he do for Quo if he were to give the old albums a spin? Is there something on these albums that could benefit from a remix?

His main point is making surround versions of albums that don't have them. Then, if he thinks the original stereo could do with some improving, he gives the label his stereo remix (which he always does before making the 5.1).
I do think all the old albums could get cleaned up (Quo especially so), and the more "produced" albums could benefit from surround. However, I don't think SW is into the band and he only remixes music he loves or that he can find some connection to.

Steven Wilson comes across as extremely pretentious IMO (putting it lightly), let him tinker with prog albums.
He's very prolific as a musician, released loads of albums and been apaart of a decent number of projects / groups.

I wonder about the remix and upgrades. The bands who made these albums must have been happy enough at the time. How could Piledriver be improved?

How could Piledriver be improved? If they'd included Softer Ride on it?

How could Piledriver be improved? If they'd included Softer Ride on it? Aye, it was a shocking omission really. I'm sure they could have managed 22 minutes per side instead of 20.
