I have never been to a Quo convention. I might give it a go next year. Is there a dress code?

I have to confess, being of a certain vintage, my travelling days for this sort of thing are probably behind me. Although not that far behind me. Which is a long-ish explanation for CBA (copyright railroad007) I once checked out Butlins in Minehead to see where it was. Call it a sort of feasibility study. It is 460 miles from my door. Given the traffic conditions south of about Lancaster (i.e. still 270 miles to go), the thought of heading that far for 3 days of drunken debauchery and non-stop Quo fills me with a heady mixture of dread and apathy. Funny thing age. 15 years ago it would probably have filled me with excitement. Or is it excrement? Anyway, one of the two. I hope everyone has a blast. I know I would if I actually got there. But I'm holding back to protect the vulnerable. Me

I attended the first two conventions, my health prevented me going to the third. I saw fans I'd met before and engaged with others only previously known online from the old Official SQ Board. Mixing with international fans was a real treat. The first time I travelled there in the 'Quoach', a minibus organised by a band from Scotland, which picked me up at a service station on the M6. I couldn't have wished for better company on that journey than squashed in with a load of Scots Quo fans, instruments and luggage. The second time I caught a west coast mainline train to Bristol where several of us were picked up at the station by a fan club coach which also picked up at the airport. Some of the best parts of the weekends were the talks and Q&A sessions, especially with Bob Young. Butlins itself was better than I expected and Minehead quite nice.

So people from all over the world visit this? Call me dumb but I always just assumed that only brits bothered to go, or like welsh and members of the UK at the most. Didn't have a clue that it was that popular

Original stuff from some of the bands, not just versions of Quo catalogue. And the inimitable Jackie Lynton. Something for everyone.
