Too many tracks.
Keep it at 10 and it stands up better. Army, RTYD, ISOTFC and this are the albums I listen to most from anything past 1983...

Must be 10 years since I last played it.
Too polished, production sounds clinical and cold ( not in a good way)
Not for me.

These references to compression I see quite a lot. I've read a few things on here about it but I'm not sure I'd recognise it. Or maybe I would. I'd just need something to compare it with I suppose. A heavily compressed album compared to one that isn't. What would I be listening for? The sound of Francis's neck being squeezed by disgruntled ex-fans? It just doesn't breathe properly, transients get lost in the overall wall of sound. The same goes for ISOTFC but at least that had a more balanced (if somewhat overly full) mix, while on QPQ the cymbals just mush away in the treble. Combined with the lack of sonic variety, it just tends to wear listeners out after a while. Though when variety arrives ("Anyway You Like It") it's not necessarily good either. I still have fond memories of the album and tour. My favourites are: Two Way Traffic Dust to Gold Let's Rock Leave a Little Light On Movin' On Frozen Hero (betcha didn't expect that ) Reality Cheque It's All About You Ugh, all the issues on Discogs have a typo ("The WInner")... and wtf did they do on the Australian edition www.discogs.com/de/Status-Quo-Quid-Pro-Quo/release/11226635

I think there are some good moments hidden in this album, but I do really struggle with listening to it for those reasons mentioned. I just find it headache inducing, thus it is probably my least listened to Quo album of recent years.

An album that has stood some test of time and gets a listen to in the car now and then, but never in one go!
Cherry picking springs to mind and the skip button but some nuggets are in there and still sound relatively fresh.
