I just wondered whether anyone would buy this version if it were re-released as a standalone release with all of Rossi's chat put back in?
I know we got the Live At The NEC 3LP and 2CD versions a few years back but they messed that up, using 3 sources for the release, I much prefer the original radio broadcast with Rossi's chat inbetween songs.
This is my favourite recorded concert by any band and I'd love to see it given the respect it deserves and just re-release the BBC version with Rossi's chat.
I'm guessing the record company would feel there's no need for them to do it and wouldn't wanna plow money into the project, but as the BBC box version is already mixed, all they would have to do is re-add the chat, surely that wouldn't be hard?

I'd rather they remix the multitracks for the 13th & 14th May concert instead of using the awful copy of the BBC Radio Broadcast they have, were they had to patch Roadhouse Blues with a completely different source

I would be interested to know if they were going to release a proper recording of it with everything in it, and it wasn't packaged as a premium memoribilia pack for £150 complete with badges and a plastic Prince Charles.

Tbh, there will be a full mix down of the show that Dave Richard's will have done at the time, as he wont have just mixed that brief section of the show.
I have a radio broadcast which is pretty much a fuller version of what was released. Same mix, from memory, just without Rossis banter chopped down

Would love a first gen copy of the radio broadcast that's been cleaned up.

Milton Keynes has awful crowd dubbing during certain songs, but in general it has a good mix and has always been my go to for that period. I'd like to get my hands on a decent copy of the Friday Rock Show broadcast from January 1983, as I think that is the fullest version of the whole show. I have an MP3 version of the broadcast, but I don't like cleaning up lossy sources

It runs at the correct speed and, as far as I know, there are no gaps inbetween the songs - along with intros / outros by Tommy Vance

It's fairly decent. It runs at the correct speed and, as far as I know, there are no gaps inbetween the songs - along with intros / outros by Tommy Vance Interesting I've also got a double cassette copy of the broadcast that I've not yet had transferred. I'm hoping it's the Friday Rock Show, as I'm after a lossless copy of that. I'd love to know if the BBC still have all the broadcast reels for Tommy Vances Friday Rock Shows - I'm assuming they will, as the British Library don't have them. I think the only things that genuinely came from the BBC for the 2010 boxset release were;- Paris Theatre, 1st March 1973 Wembley Arena, 7th July 1988 Steve Wright, 30th November 1989 Sutton Park, 30th August 1992 (Definitely came from the BBC, as I also have the broadcast master copy) Brighton Centre, 12th December 1996 Ken Bruce, 9th September 2005 The rest seems to have been supplied from bootleg copies - I'm 100% sure the booklet even mentions this... I'll have to check I actually wouldn't be too surprised if a full copy of the Wembley 1988 show exists on DAT, as a full copy of the Brighton 1996 show does, besides the 2 separate broadcasts.

Tony Wilson, who was the producer of the Friday Rock Show, has stated that all the Friday Rock Shows were wiped by the BBC as he was trying to get them re-broadcast a few years ago, and that's what they told him.

Quoincidence , talking of the Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance, I remember listening to the NEC gig and ended up sticking it on cassette - as we all did back then. Having to turn the C90 over half way through Forty Five Hundred Times and missing about 10 seconds of it A 40-year old tape? Still got it but it's probably unplayable now I'm just wondering when it was broadcast. January 1983 doesn't really ring a bell. Was it broadcast twice by any chance? I thought I listened to it not too many days after the actual gig. Maybe the following Friday? But memory's a funny thing. As has been proven to me time and again on here

Mind you, playing his highlights from the previous year vaguely rings a bell. I do recall him saying something like it was the best rock event he'd ever attended. He'd obviously never been to an evening with Elkie Brooks
