Just listening to the Mystery Medley and Gerdundula from Liverpool Pops there and I have to say it sounds great. ( bonus on TPAOY reissue)
Caroline/Sbybil/ BTR and Whatever You Want were all released on that Daily Mirror cd as well of course.
What’s the chances to the full gig emerging ?
The crowd are really into it as well.

The full set will have been mixed at the time by Paxman before selected tracks were chosen for the various releases you've mentioned, but I've not a clue if the original stem / multitracks still exist. Here's a combination of all the tracks released, removing the fade ins and outs (if I haven't sent it already);- we.tl/t-CzmZCnQHj8

One of my favourite ever gigs. Wonderful atmosphere. And two tracks in particular come across extremely well; Rain and Roll Over Lay Down. The band have rarely sounded better or more powerful. I still listen to those regularly. It's funny, but because of the release of some tracks for that Daily Mirror giveaway, which was obviously part of the promotion for the .... Party album, I convinced myself the entire gig would see it's way onto an official CD. But then I thought the same about the Milton Keynes gig when we got the medley from that. Silly me But I'll say this; it really was one worth releasing. Maybe too late after the fact now. Especially after SO many live albums since. Go on, Quo. Nicely packaged, taking photos from the programme and in garish cerise vinyl. Or maybe a blue and red double album seeing it's Liverpool

Call me old fashioned but I do like my physical product. I'm a touchy feely type of guy If it was to pitch up on Spotify I'd never hear it. I don't do streaming except with my TV. I just see Spotify as a modern day radio station with bells on. And I'm not sure what the bells are. Choose your own music I guess. See? Call me old fashioned

I lie to read stuff like who engineered it, what studio was used etc. Saddo, me !! I was just thinking that for gigs lying around that were never going to get a proper release , maybe iTunes etc would be a compromise .

I must be missing something cos I've listened to this gig a few times now and can't see what's so great about it. Yes it has great sound and the band performed well but to me it's just a very good gig, I certainly wouldn't be bothered if it never got a full release.
Many other gigs I'd prefer to get a release.

There are tons of recordings from that period of this lineup. Theyd have to all be released as a boxset, because standalone would be too much, considering there isnt a massive change in setlist.

Just had a listen and it's controlled and very good. But then I go and listen to Rain from 'Live' and get blown away by the rawness of it all.

Think I went to this gig as well . Was it over a weekend that had the “ beach boys “ on another night ? .

The lead singer from the Christians was a support act one night . Support when we were there was Paul Carrack and he was excellent. Possibly one of the best support acts for Quo I've seen.
