I have a question if Knebworth wanted too re-release a complete new version expanded compilation of that day could they do it? Won't other artists management have a say in the release copyright legal issues credits etc . I know most of the acts that day have released their sets or some songs in their own releases Pink Floyd, Genesis, Robert Plant but could they still do it legally if they wanted too seeing as they own all the rights too the footage and audio by each artist.

They could, more than likely do it. Of course they would have to have conversations with the band first to make sure they want their full sets included on an "expanded set". All the bands would have to remix the audio / restore the footage themselves, or atleast hire people to do it.

Firmly believe it's one of the best gigs any line up has ever done! One of the best in Quo history imo Also believe they blew everyone away at that festival. Thanks Luke

Coming back to this... It actually wouldn't be that hard for any of the artists, that performed at Knebworth, to remix and release their full sets. The multitracks were used in the early 2000s, due to them doing a whole new 5.1 Surround Sound mix for the DVD release with Eagle Vision - so there will be already digitised copies of every artists set. Chris Kimsey and Steve Smith did the remixing at the Olympic Studios in London. I suppose it's probably why Pink Floyd have released theirs. When you have the costs of baking / digitising the tape eliminated, all you're really then paying for is someone to mix the audio Edit;- It also makes me wonder why the didn't bother using the remixed audio for the CD release as well, instead of remastering the originally released audio.

Yeah one thing i don't get what Pink Floyd did with audio for the CD & the live footage of their set is the stupid pointless edits in the Comfortably Numb solo which is one of David's best solos the edits ruin the flow of the build up too the climax of the song. But thankfully we have the Knebworth CD with the full solo which is still the version i go too too listen too that performance of CN.
Shame PFM did those cuts in the solo totally unnecessary edits. Was always a solo they could of left untouched
The original mix is better too for the vocals sung by Guy Pratt, Richard Wright, Jon Carin

Whatever You Want, Dirty Water, In The Army Now and Rockin' (from memory), as the broadcast started with a camera crane shot from the back of the park which then panned up to a heli hovering above. I need to get a copy of the TV broadcast, or even my dads taping of it transferred. I remember this ad being on the tape

another stupid edit is not having the bands in the correct order on the DVD & Blu-Ray releases rather then the direct copy of original tapes onto digital. Knebworth has been re-released once onto DVD & now its on Blu-Ray with an upgrade in audio and picture its laziness imo that they cant put the bands into the correct order in this digital day & age and give a few extra songs from each artist or give us a documentary on the event as its one of the best all day gigs since Live Aid with a great line up (except Cliff Richard)
