If backbone would’ve had a production style that shifted more towards QPQ the album would have been purely amazing. The production of QPQ to me is everything I hate about pop rock. Cold and sterile. Doesn’t sound authentic at all.

I know its subjective, but Power Up is a far better album than Backbone. Witch`s Spell and Demon Fire alone are better than anything on Backbone. After having a listen, I am glad you said it's subjective Even the band have moved on from Backbone. No mention of it when the new tour and set were announced. Francis just promised the hits.

I was hoping for a track or two from Backbone. Well, it would have been the two. But I can see the 'attraction' in simply playing the hits post-Quovid, especially to an entertainment starved public. And by the time I see them, there will have been a gap of almost 5 years. The longest on my Quo 'career' which began in black and white. Maybe even sepia So even I might appreciate one or two of the ole toons. Can't see me sticking on 12 Gold Bars when I get home though

Surely they should include Get Out Of My Head with Ritchie singing. It’s a natural for Quo going forward imo.

But I don't foresee much change from previous sets other than maybe even more hits at the expense of some album tracks. They probably feel circumstances demand it. Let's face it, they've been more Tesco than Kerrang for many years now. But it's all guesswork. As long as they keep Umleitung in the set, I'll be perfectly happy

It was still in the set last time I saw them. Not sure about when they briefly previewed the Backbone songs a couple of years ago. Which I think was only in Germany.

Yeah, they were doing Oriental during the summer festivals and on tour with Skynyrd in 2019 Probably the one thing I'll never forgive Quo fans for...I remember so many demanded the band put that into the set A stain on the arse of humanity that is at this stage. It was alright for one tour but, 20 years later?!?!

For me AC/DC are a band I do like. I’m a big fan of the album Flick of the switch. It’s right up my street. Probably am a casual fan bit like Status Quo after Never too late. So many bands I listen to I’m a casual fan. But if I’m honest I’m in my 50s, there arent many bands I can name all the members. I’m not sure I know all the members of Status Quo. Is it Matt on drums and Richie on second guitar ? I really like BlackBerry smoke and Massive wagons, no idea who’s in the bands. The list would go on. Judas Priest no idea but they recorded their best album in decades last time. They also released an EP a couple of years before that was even better called 5 Souls in advance of the album that year. If you haven't heard it, I'd heartily recommend. This is partially true, the EP was released on 10" Red Vinyl for Record Store Day in the US after the album had been out, the tracks on the EP were the bonus tracks from the 2nd CD of the album.

Cheers. I didn't know any of the background behind it. I just saw it on (I think) iTunes, had a listen and duly grabbed it.

I can understand those who's questioning the lyrics but musically I think it's among the stronger songs on HT.
