Nottingham Arena 2010 was my first Quo gig since 1993. It was the first gig I noticed the stage was halfway up the arena. And a black curtain was obscuring the other half. I thought it was a bit of a comedown for them.

I thought it was a bit of a comedown for them. that's because the mighty quo was run in to the ground .blah blah blah again again down down deeper n down on and on the party ain't over yet ect...and this story as been told in many versions and many many times before.

I've never been at a Quo gig that wasn't well attended. For certain values of "well". Wembly Arena was thinning out quite a lot towards the end of their stay there, but I like the place and it didn't bother me (except on their behalf).

And, conversely, on a similar theme to Mrs Flittersnoop , I've been to many a gig, especially in recent years, where I've looked round and thought the crowd was exceptionally large. Particularly those gigs in the summer they used to do; castles, forests, all that. Sometimes I used to look over my shoulder and think to myself "wow, this band can still pull 'em in!" Rochester, Locarno and Zurich (of course) spring immediately to mind.

And hallenstadion in Zurich always looked amazing I really wish there was footage or pictures of the Ardgillan Castle gig from 2005. When Francis Rossi says it's one of the best gigs he's done, you know it must be good! Was certainly one of the best gigs of any band I was ever at Great venue and setting. Glorious day too

Part of that was partly down to playing other venues nearby like two nights at Croydon etc It never really made sense

I think in the U.K. over the years because Quo toured every winter and did lots of summer gigs, there came a point where it maybe wasn’t so vital to see them this time round as they would be back soon.
The lack of change in the set list didn’t do them any favours either as even the most committed and ardent fans would maybe cut down on the number of gigs they were doing.

I was at a John Coghlan's Quo gig in Ireland about 20 years ago. Despite a cracking show, I doubt if there was two dozen at it. Does this count?

Yes times have changed for JCQ. I went to see him in Sutton maybe 20 years ago when it was Stated Quo (?) and I think there were about 8 people.
Seems to be way better supported now, due to Facebook etc

I went to the Route Of Kings gig in Hyde Park (2001?) Quo were headlining on the Sunday with the Beach Boys as a support. I did not think it was a particularly big crowd there considering the advertising of the event and the prestige of it as well. Maybe only 9000 there.

Perhaps people couldn't find it - Hyde park is quite big

NEC , winter tour , the 0ne with Kim Wilde and Roy Wood , half empty at least , I think there was a curtain . Poor gig by status quo standards and there seemed to be an unrehearsed encore . Can understand you don’t like small theatres because the facilities backstage aren’t up to much , but if you want to only perform in arenas / stadiums it would help to sell out or as close as possible to achieve some kind of atmosphere . Small pockets of fans kind of going for it amongst the standstill / sat down brigade spoil it for me . Thank fuck the reunion tours didn’t attract too many of them and the bounce along was back . Haven’t seen status quo since the reunions what are the crowds and reaction like ? I was there, probably also my answer Yeah the end was awful wasn't it, remember Francis looking at me and shaking his head during the chaos! Was it kim wild? Thought it was bonnie Tyler, or am I confusing my Quo festives?
