A true classic of the genre and for me the third best album that Ronnie ever made. I'd always liked Sabbath but that was more to do with Tony's guitar sound than Ozzy's vocals. This album showed what a weak vocalist he is compared to Ronnie. All the Sabbath albums I like most don't have Ozzy as a member, though strangely I think his solo output has always been good to excellent.

I always found it odd, Dio singing older Sabbath songs. His better voice and distinctive vocal didn’t quite fit.

One of the greatest rock albums for me. Dio and Sabbath was a perfect Union.
The album is stocked full of classic songs. The title track... with one of Tony’s finest riffs. Love all of it.

This is going to sound a bit naff but I've never heard it! Well, not properly anyway. My sister used to have it and I could hear it from behind her bedroom door when she was getting ready to go out. So, no doubt much to my mum and dad's annoyance, I'd stick my LP of choice on and try and drown it out Back then it would have been Quo, UFO, Judas Priest or some such. Budgie's Power Supply was a fave that year. The only Sabbath albums I ever owned and have heard all of the way through are Paranoid and Vol 4. I'd better have a listen. I feel left out

Dio's solo stuff I was OK with but not quite as wild about. I remember buying Holy Diver but found it a bit hit and miss. It was maybe down to Vivian Campbell on guitar who I never really took to. Too flash and not enough substance for me. Same as John Sykes when he joined Thin Lizzy. But it's all personal taste really. Anyway, I digress; I'll certainly give it a bash. I'm not sure why I never got round to listening to it. It was probably right up my street in 1980 and I'd been a fan of Ronnie Dio since his Elf days after seeing them support Deep Purple.

I must admit, like mortified I'm not overly familiar with this album! I will rectify that today. Headphones on. "Sabbath was a band that was floundering," Dio observed. "And, with my inclusion in it, we pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, cared a lot about each other, and knew that we could do it again – especially under the banner of a band that had been so successful.

Loved this when it came out - then I heard 'Live Evil' and developed a deep apathy for H+H... now, I far prefer 'Mob Rules'! But I'll admit H+H does have some brilliant stuff on it!
Don't really 'get' Ozzy/Sabbath at all [Solo-Ozzy, up to Jake, is fab - not interested after that tho'], never have - gimme RJD's version any day.

This is gonna sound a bit embarrassing , i was a huge sabbath fan with ozzy and totally refused to listen to anything sabbath without him for about 20 years after he left cos ,in my small but loyal mind, it wasnt sabbath . I know . Once i did i felt even more stupid as it is quality , the H&H title track is phenomenal ! Its an excellent all round album, as is mob rules , who's title track is also outstanding I liked Rainbow with RJD but just didnt think his voice would suit sabbath and i believe i was right cos ive never liked Live Evil as i think he murdered the ozzy songs, but they managed to change sabbaths sound and its great, but still not who i think of when i think of sabbath. Funny really because i think ozzy hasnt done a great album since Diary of a madman and ive seen him on many tours since (probably the loyalty thing again) I do believe however that RJD is a far superior vocalist , no comparison tbh, just ozzy was perfect for the early sabbath songs , if that makes any sense

This may not be a popular view...
8 songs
3 of them are brilliant
5 filler
For me it's only really the title track that is authentic sabbath. One of the best riffs ever
The rest sounds.. to me anyway... like Dio solo stuff
