Alan was spot on when he called Rossi “the anti-Quoist”,in my opinion. Cheers

There are two sides to every story...If we hear both sides, the truth always comes out.
Unfortunately, we've only heard Francis' side, never anyone else's. Alan, let's his emotions get the better of him and he just spirals into insults. John prefers to keep silent which is perfectly fine and Rick, well we ain't going to hear anything from him sadly...
I don't agree with Francis on the whole, "Rick wasn't a rocker!" Rick was a rocker! It's possible to be a rocker and still love softer, lighter, more emotive material. I should know!

I think this is just semantics. Who's a rocker? Angus Young, Lemmy, that kind... I know much less about them than about Quo but I know Quo had more soft and poppy songs than AC/DC and Motörhead. Hell, Ritchie Blackmore makes medieval folk music now and is on record as a big ABBA fan (ditto for Francis, I think?).

While we're waiting for that, it might be time to enjoy this, featuring the inimitable Noel McCalla on vocals...

If "Rocker" means exclusively a rocker, the bar is raised so high as nobody is included. Even Lemmy loved varied festivals and enjoyed live jazz
I think what Francis means is that he feels Rick felt he had to act in a certain way because he was a rocker. Sounds like 99% of it comes down to alcohol. Very rare for an dry alcoholic to be fine around others drinking. Probs easier for francis to say what he said rather than say "I didn't want Rick to drink around me"

Now this side of Francis I find hard to deal with, the whole frantic Four slagging off the Reunion after it, really lowered my feelings (professionally) towards him, first it was Spuds fault, then Alans, then Ricks, but never, ever his...lack of professionalism on his part, but then again, I buy his new extortionately priced AAA book? Who's right and who's wrong? I guess I'll always love the Old Chap...just sometimes, I'd wish he'd keep it to himself He's flawed and contradictory like every single one of us. It's just that he has always been given a very public forum to present his views and, having at one time been a genuine deity to many of us , finding that he is actually human after all is a bit of a let down To be fair, if I was asked a question 40 years ago and then asked it again the other day, chances are the answer might be the complete opposite of what I said then. With both recorded for public record! Rather him than me, that's for sure Also to be fair, he has given Rick some very high praise for the reunion gigs. I read just the other day that he thinks Rick dragged the band through the first tour pretty much single handed, keeping it all together while it all fell apart around him. And its not difficult to understand why when you watch the DVD's. He is a cantankerous and deliberately provocative old buzzard at times. But, like you say, can't help loving him like a black sheep brother

Typical click bait.
As far back as the mid 70s Francis used the motivation of the negative press to motivate himself, then he used Punk to motivate himself.
It clearly drives him.
I stepped off his Slow train decades ago.

From Classic Rock Magazine: "For many, Lemmy was already the epitome of rock'n'roll. Now, it has been revealed that the Motorhead frontman had his ashes placed in bullets and given to his closest friends — and you can’t get more rock'n'roll than that." Jumping over that bar with ease, good old Lem.

The fact that Rick stuck to Francis Coat tails and vice versa for over 50 years tells its own story. He couldn’t have disliked Francis or else he would have tried to go it alone long before the Turkey incident. I would go as far to say that there were far to many distractions in Ricks life for him to be bothered and he was happy on the QUO bandwagon. Quo was the cash cow and they all need/needed it.

Patty’s book is one of the worst things published in relation to Quo in my opinion.I wouldn’t believe a word of it Cheers
