Kerrang review?
The Megadeth comparison isn't a bad one. It's certainly how I felt at the time, an album with zero feeling or excitement. Bland.
Don't Mind if I Do is half decent.

I’m glad looking back, that I didn’t know that this pile of bland rubbish was out. The irony is by ‘88 Megadeth’s best work was already behind them.

Hope somebody has kept it
Perhaps it was Raw magazine , the AC review was titled "Guess who farted?"

Don't mind the album at all. I like it*
*Except for Burning Bridges, Magic, Cross That Bridge, Cream Of The Crop.

Quo bracketed with Supertramp & Dire Straits by way of criticism - I'm sure they'd be quite happy to be considered as poor as those two bands.

Great album, no skippable songs for me.
The vinyl gets a regular spin on the turntable.

The thing that I've always found odd about some of the critic's venom is the fact that they never give an example of how it should be done. I can listen to any band that are well known and name that band because the music is familiar...sounds the same as their previous work. Does any Beatles song not sound like the Beatles?

What a pretentious prick this Sam King is. How about naming the songs, are they ballads or rockers etc. I bet no one ever asked Sam what he thought of the dinner he just had.
"I thought the spuds had a repetitive sameness prevalent in King Edwards, they showed no tangible emotion which highlighted their arrogance and smugness even the gravy conjured up a Vista of complacency blah blah blah."
There was a comedy show years back that took the piss out of wine tasting with all that "fruity bouquet" "Travels well" "You can taste the crispy grapes". In the comedy show one of the experts was asked about a claret and he said " It reminds me of a dwarf in a chip shop" which is what this Sam King is a master of, dwarf in a chip shop pretentious journalism.

Personally I think the review is pretty positive when you consider what he is reviewing.

I think AC is a really good album. I think the production is top notch and spot on for it’s time. Polished well written album in my opinion. Regarding all the reviews of everything. Nothing new as I read all these back in the day even though some of the members were in denial on here looking back at the threads. But it must have killed all these negative narrow minded reviewers that Quo were deemed important enough to kick off the biggest show staged of all time to create the atmosphere of the day ! Wonder where some of them are now. Probably sticking pins in Quo dolls !!! 😂
