I'm sure I've read in one of the many books I've got that in '84, Vertigo had actually gone as far as giving 'TCTTG' an official catalogue number, so the decision must've been pretty late to pull it...

Fair enough. I just misinterpreted what you wrote Yeah, that tends to happen alright. I sometimes forget people can't see my demeanor over text/online posts. It has led to some awkward moments, accusations and fallouts Huh - join the club, my good man!! [pity others (generally speaking, before anybody on here gets a complex!) aren't as self aware tho', would halt a lot of hassles fersure!]

G I sent a birthday present to a girl I've known since school during the summer. She lives in New York. I wrote a message with it saying, "Birthdays come once a year but, people like you only come into the world once in a lifetime. Have a great day " Well, she got fucking arsey with me. Proper told me off and hasn't spoken to me since. Probably thought I was trying it on with her. Fucking ungrateful gibbon mitts! I can't send a compliment to anyone without being accused of either being weird or trying to get into someone's knickers or if I'm nice to a male friend, it's usually, "What are you after?" I need to find new people... Anyways yeah...What were we talking about again?

It has led to some awkward moments, accusations and fallouts I've suffered from these over the years. The trick to avoid them is wear tighter fitting underwear The rerecorded version of this song is a bit like a big bag of Lidl Paprika Chips, one of life's guilty pleasures to be enjoyed alone.

I'd like to say tighter underwear makes it look like I'm smuggling bananas into wherever I'm going but alas, I can't. I like your analogy...Reminds me of fancying the teacher everyone thinks is unattractive but, you have a pleasurable fondle over her regardless

I'm trying to work out if Alan is looking embarrassed!
I have a memory of driving to work one Saturday morning in 1984 and had Radio One tuned in on the car radio. Back then Tony Blackburn was presenting Junior choice/Weekend Breakfast Show. Where youngsters are on a panel reviewing the latest singles. Must to my surprise, out of the batch of singles that were played, Quo's Going Down Town Tonight was voted the winner.
I think I particularly remember that day as the single was up against some more obviously youthful/'cool' acts and also because there had been some history between Quo and Tony B with Down The Dustpipe. Though on this occasion Tony wasn't taking the opportunity to take the ....
Rossi & Parfitt and Tony B actually got on like a house on fire when all were on one of Steve Wright's afternoon radio shows many years later. Remember that broadcast as well as in the car tuned into Radio 2!
