An absolute classic, I've always wondered why it never was included in their live set over the years apart from a guest appearance in the medley for a couple of tours

Francis struggled to sing the full length version when they first played it in 1982 and they even dropped it from the set during the tour.
Not my favourite ever Quo single. By this time, the singles had become a little bit safe.
If I remember rightly, the video had a young Ray Burdis in it who went on to become a staple of British TV; Three Up, Two Down the sitcom being the most well known I think. The young actress might have been Lysette Anthony but I'm not sure. She went on to seek fame in America with some degree of success. This is mostly from memory to be fair. I could be well out.
Neither are credited for appearing in the video. In fact, no one is other than Quo.
Another song not written by Quo and used as a single. Not the first and certainly not the last.

I love it
1982 is still the only album in my lifetime that I have listen to once and never again. Not even fully, as I found myself skipping tracks before they finished.
Don't like it at all

You have to look at the amount of covers for 1981 onwards
1. SBYBIL 2. Dear John 3. Mess of Blues 4. GDTT 5 The Wanderer 6. Rollin Home 7. Red Sky 8. In the Army Now
versus self penned:
1. She don't fool me 2. Ol Rag Blues 3. MT 4. Dreamin'
Twice as many

Nope, the singles around this time were the beginning of the end for me. Whilst its not as bad listening to it now as it was back in the day, I am still not keen on this. Another failing to get into my top 10.

I really love Dear John but have always thought that She Don't Fool Me was a better single.

Bit like how P.Y.T, Human Nature, Thriller, and Man in The Mirror were written for Michael Jackson or how Bernie Taupin wrote songs for Elton John. It's a bit like a producer, making the band's song's better and taken them in another direction. Having said that, I get your point. The well was running dry... MT and Dreamin' shouldn't have been anywhere near a Quo album. Not because of their genre but, because they're just not very good. Although, still have the opinion that MT could and would have made a killer melancholic blues song, especially with those lyrics

Well it sucks having the track in a final mixtape before a break up. However... Musically it sums up the "Yeah! I'm moving on and leaving you for dust!" far better than letting down gently with acoustics and flutes. It should have a sequel about not being able to let go and phoning the ex constantly.
