This is the one that could not be defended in "They all sound the same" debate...hated it.
"Then came a line when the music didn't rhyme He couldn't find the rhyme 'cos he couldn't find the time"
Sheer poetry.

I sort of agree with railroad here. I think this song from the golden era 1970-1981 maybe deserves the most criticism from the Quo haters and music journalists. I find it hard to defend this song even though I quite like it.

"Some of the things we've put out have been a little dodgy. 'Again And Again' was awful" - F. Rossi I concur. Solo's alright though.

A really great song and much better than every single after 1981.

I was in my early Quo-loving prime when this was released. Always enjoyed it, except for the damn "Again, again, again, again" in the chorus. Was it beyond them to come up with an alternative couple of more suitable words? ??

I like it and I love Francis' guitar work and John's drumming on it.
Has good energy to it
I can understand if you were young at the time, the slagging you would get from your peers due to the lyrical content but, there's 7 chords in it so, can't say it's "only three chords"
Besides, why judge a piece of music because of what someone else thinks?

It does feel like Quo by numbers. I’m not knocking it, but shows how many great songs they had.

I remember being very disappointed at the time after the huge success of the “ Rockin “ single. I was expecting much better as a follow up. It had been so long a wait for it. Just damn lazy and it’s chart position reflected it. Not a bad song though but just not what was needed as a single !

Lyrically, it's not as bad as some of Rick's later work Perhaps it does feel Quo by numbers but, if we say that, so is Caroline and PP. I don't know. I guess I've never actually thought much about the song. I just like the sound of it, the feel of it and the guitar and drum work

Now now don’t take your slightly biased favouritism and start putting A&A in the same category as Caroline & PP. Quo by numbers they may sound but distinctly superior to A&A 😂

Love it. Great sound ,powerful and great solo. Great vocal. Great !
Later songs like keep em coming tried to replicate this but I don't regard A&A at all as Quo by numbers.
Wish Quo had tried opening with this in the 90's,would have gone down a storm.
Francis liked the song in the end
I would have thought "the hardcore" of the time would have thought this was an upgrade on the RAOTW single??
