Even in 1979 the charts were great. Love that Secret Affair song.

I didn't think Whatever You Want entered the British singles chart at no.12 but my memory must be playing tricks. I thought it entered much further down and shot to no.4 in it's second week. Some classic songs in there though. I reckon at least 5 of them made it to no.1 Boney M with Gotta Go Home? Who knew?

Was just starting to listen to rock music as a fan. All night long I think was my first single I bought.

There's a bonus disc coming out soon that has the unreleased 3rd Quo covers album and includes all these songs.
Tenuous link would be Rossi producing Graham Bonnet later in his career.

While you're here Mort, remember the nonsense of the editing of Fairy Tale Of New York? We were doing some big renovations at Christmas so had the radio on all day and we heard every Christmas song except Mary's Boy Child and even stranger all the radio stations we listened too edited out the speech in When A Child Is Born...strange Fcuking times Mort.

No good defending him charles, stop breathing those 70's fumes and breathe the pure oxygen of the string bending solo era.

Didn't know anything about any of that. The editing of Fairy Tale of New York? To what end? It's hardly the most offensive of songs. Other than the tune obviously You should've just stuck on Now...Christmas Don't tell anyone but me and Mrs Mortified had Hits! The Very Best of Erasure playing on Christmas Day. Always liked Erasure. You should've seen me in my gold hot pants and vest while Mrs Mortified did a bit of stuffing
