If he could speak German then fair play to him. I am learning it at the moment, it is very difficult, much harder than I first thought. I have applied for German citizenship ( duel, with British), so I need to get my act in gear! Get yourself a German wife/partner/other half , much more effective than books or courses. |

I had a German grandmother, but unfortunately she has long passed. Years ago when we had family gatherings at her house some German was spoken there, so I picked up a little bit when i was much younger. |

We could have one here too, after all there's quite a few German Quo fans here too (including yours truly)! |

I received my German citizenship today. Now British/German duel nationality. Just got to wait for the passport!

Have you spent time living in the UK? Your grammer is better than most of us on here, a clue I'd missed that points to you being not English 😊 I would be very up for a German language thread. But what else do I need? (I already know how to order beer) Nope, but I guess growing up in a two-language household gave me a good start! I also think these forums have quite shaped my written English at least. I was scolded on Twitter because I dared to say something about US politics and used the spelling "behaviour". |
