That, I'm pretty sure, is a John Peel review from "Sounds" music paper. He was also the first to play the single on his Radio 1 night time slot. It opened one of his shows at 10 o'clock at night. Keep 'em coming

Keep 'em coming As I recall, Peel was particularly partial to the album version, when it was subsequently released.

The mighty DD. A song rarely played on Aussie radio but still sounds damn brilliant whenever I hear it on the airwaves. Maybe it just takes me back to more innocent days... nostalgia😉

I'm not too sure: he claims they can play their instruments, while it's now established John for one was hopeless on drums.

DD another one that over time I no longer particularly care for.The original album version with the play out is probably my favourite but if I never heard DD again it wouldn’t bother me. Cheers

I absolutely love these old reviews of Quo classics. Keep them coming. Yeah, John Peel loved Down Down, I believe it was one of his favourite songs. That man had good taste, sometimes!
