Almost 8am Christmas morning here in Oz, and am playing Piledriver as I have the house to my own at present. (almost 9pm in Pommieland) As usual, on Christmas morning, I’ll crack open a beer at precisely 8am and toast Rick while listening to Big Fatty.🍺👍

The thing I don't remember is that it was Christmas Eve. Not important. I just remember that my youngest sister (who is much younger than me, and not a particujlar fan) took the time to sympathise with me, and sent me a message which didn't mention Rick but took me to the news. Missing you, Rick. Quo died with you really, though I wish them all the best for the future.
I will never forget the moment I found out, about 4:15 pm after church. Never. Just as little as I will forget Ricky himself, of course. My day today started with "Over and Out", continued with "It's Christmas Time" and some others of his songs. Then later after dinner at and with Dad we drank a good cognac including "Living On An Island" and again "It's Christmas Time" on Rick and thought of him and remebered all of the good times we had together. Now I'm at home, having a good red wine and I'm listening to Quo all sorts, phases and stages and thinking of the best rhythm guitarist this world has ever seen. I'm about to have a tasty whisky on him soon. And of course I'm wearing my self-designed Ricky T-shirt all day!
I never can and I never will: I can't escape this Ricky in my ears...<3
backwater67: Looks like fretbuzzzz has based his sales on BPI sales awards. Back in the 1970s & 80s silver sales were based on minimum 250,000 units sold. (Today silver sales are awarded for 200,000 units)

granny: But @4th Chord regarding your new rule...if the man running the country (Dominic Cummings) can weave a fairy tale around known facts why can't we be just as creative?

juansupposin: 21st September 91 at Wembley, the 45 min Guinness concert, probably not the best concert to start, only 45 min, I remeber thinking they will play longer because it was the last concert

backwater67: Paul Hirch filled in for Quo when Andy’s wife was unable to tour. Aquostic was a complete different project for Quo. I was referring to a standard regular live gig on stage with session guitarists. Jagger does still take the lead vocal.
