I was at Lewisham Odeon being blown sideways.
Caroline, Roll over lay Down, Backwater, Rockers Rollin', Is there a better Way,
You Don't Own Me, Hold You Back, Rockin' all over the World, Dirty Water, 4500 Times, Big fat Mama, Don't waste my Time, Roadhouse Blues.
Rain, Down Down, Drum solo, Bye Bye Johnny.
They used more dry ice back then, they where hard to see when they came on, along the back of the amps led by a lad with a pen light. The Drone really shook the place and then the start of Caroline which was everything in one go, deafening and blinding but the sound was spot on.
ROLD lay down was played brilliantly and they place really started to move during the second verse
The segue from Backwater to Rockers Rollin' consisted of one of those Parfitt solo bits, blue spotlight fans and smoke.
You Don't Own Me should have stayed in the set for longer.
There was all that stuff that you never knew about from any live recordings, Rossi's guitar between the end of 4500 Times and the start of BFM, he played a dipping series of chords that hit right in the middle of chest during the bassier parts. That was the part I wasn't prepared for, it wasn't only the ears that experienced the music.
I was amazed how much they moved on stage and how good the road crew were at untangling the wires.
There was dust from that big old balcony, that was shaking, caught in the spotlights during the jig, it looked great.
And probably most important of all was how these guys I'd only known from the television, radio and albums were really able to connect with everyone in the audience, they really put in a massive effort to make it an atmosphere that we were all going to have a good time together, I didn't know that Alan Lancaster was a laughing outgoing bloke until then, or that JC was such a presence on stage.
