Can't say I tune in to music on the wireless much anymore. Can't tell if you've found a popular music station or if it's just interference. I hear that the new digital wireless receivers now available Have bespoke rock and roll staions on them. Will have to count up my green shield stamp books and perhaps try to procure one.

I genuinely heard "Mr Mind Detector" on BFBS (I think?) about 15 years ago. Properly threw me..

Much as I've gone right off Radio 1, I cannot stick commercial radio. And the vast majority of it is. Commercial that is.
And when it's commercial, the musical agenda becomes an entirely different beast.

On the odd occasion that I listen to the radio, almost always in the car, it's Radio 4 or one of the classical music options - I don't find myself driving too fast so much that way!
One of the benefits of working from home is not having to suffer Heart radio in the background, especially this time of year. They seem to have a very small playlist on heavy rotation. Last year, or maybe the year before, one of the presenters finished their show with Fairytale of New York, followed by a news bulletin, the next presenter then started their show with ...... Fairytale of New York!

My worst experience with commercial radio and stations being owned by the same owner. I will never listening too one station and it plays a song, you thru the other stations another station is playing the same song at a different part of the song. Or you go to another station a different song is playing then it goes too the song your avoiding. Once 3 stations were playing the same song at the same time.
Worst is Magic or Heart they play the same 5 songs on repeat daily

Somebody requested Gerdundula on SWR3 not so long ago. That was about the only time I've had a Quo surprise on the radio recently. It's usually just ITAN, RAOTW, WYW (in that order).
Oh, actually some station also played Ain't Complaining! But Quo are not big mainstays on the radio stations I tend to listen to, sadly.
