Now is it just me, or do you rarely hear Quo on the radio these days, compared to other 'long running' Artists? Now, I've mentioned before on here The Quo aren't seen (by the uneducated Masses) as British 'Rock Royalty' (They love 'kissing the Arses' of The Beatles/Elton/Roxy Music/Kate Bush etc etc... ) But you never seem to hear much Quo (I generally listen to Radio 2 while at work btw) anymore...Or is it just me noticing this?

In Spain, they are almost every day (or at least every week). Even in various stations.
In one of them, they just play the classics (WYW, ITAN, maybe WYP). In another, they're played less, but more "rare" tracks like Down Down, Rain.

Hi Roquer,
I know in Spain ROCK FM plays the classics (WYW, ITAN and also WYP, RAOTW and DD) but just out of curiosity in which station you hear Rain?
I listen these days to Radio garden (LIVE RADIO BY ROTATING THE WORLD) where you can select any station in the world
After checking I selected Cnaterbury ( Easy rock, Retro rock) and I have been greatly impressed in the last months I heard songs like Lies, Ice the Sun, A Mess of a Blues, Again and again, Pictures..Ol rag Blues, Break the rules, DD, ..) SOngs that you cannot dream to hear here in Spain.

Radio 2 particularly Ken Bruce used to regularly play the Quo, usually Caroline, Down Down, WYW, Paper Plane, the favourites! But they don't seem to now ! 🤔😥

I requested 'In My Chair' on Johnnie walkers Sounds of the 70s show, on BBC Radio 2 a month ago, the following week he played 'Rockin' All Over The World' & 'Down Down' and last Sunday, he played 'Paper Plane'. I'm going to request 'Mystery Song' for Johnnie's Christmas show to commemorate the 4th anniversary of Rick's death.

I think it was on Rick's birthday or Francis' birthday when they played it. On Rock FM I never heard WYW or ITAN for example.

Quo are usually well backed by radio 2 (UK biggest radio station) more so when new material appears. Classic rock & Absolute 70s play them quite a lot. They don’t seem to get much play on local commercial stations, maybe Rockin’ once a blue moon.

I actually think Radio 2 plays its fair share of Quo. The station you REALLY need to listen to if you want Quo is the brilliant Planet Rock. There is a Quo track played at least once a day, yesterday it was the magnificent Lonely Man.

Over here they rarely play Quo on radio but it’s always WYW or RAOTW which is a shame considering their catalogue. On the rare chance Down Down is played it always takes me back to when I was 16.... it still has that magic and sounds great on radio. I was actually listening to ‘Status Quo Rock Radio’ station the other day and this dirge of a song came on.... a minute into it I thought ‘surely this just can’t be Quo!?’ Sadly it was them playing the acoustic version of Again and Again live. I have avoided hearing anything Aquostic and felt my decision was justified to avoid it when I heard that acoustic version... Ricks voice was terrible.

Don't listen to normal radio anymore but do listen to Stingray Music in Oz at home or in the car when I want surprises. Go to 70's, 80's, Classic Rock or even Retro Party. Hear so many songs I'd forgotten.
Have heard nearly every 12 Gold Bars track though the thumbnail is always the original album.

Radio...
I haven’t had a radio since the late 90s. Never listen to it online either.
Why rely on radio when I have millions of songs on my hard drives.

Can't remember when I last listened to a radio station. I know it sounds like some old codger moaning his false teeth off but since Tommy Vance wasn't doing his Radio 1 slot, I haven't bothered. Him, John Peel and Alan Freeman; that was it for me really. All a very long time ago. The introduction of the 'posse', whenever that was, sent me packing Actually, when I was last in the office maybe about 5 years ago, the boss used to stick the radio on between Christmas and New Year. Radio 1 usually and it was fvckin' awful! I have fairly eclectic tastes but if anyone ever tells you there's great variety on there, they are deaf, stupid or lying Hearing Taylor Swift, Ed Sheerin and Katy Perry every single hour is purgatory Same music, different pitch. So, basically, I haven't heard Quo on the radio in many a year. Maybe when they were previewing the new songs from Quid Pro Quo. I remember that. But only because I knew they were coming in advance.

When I’m out and about in the van at work I listen to greatest hits radio.
They played Quo a few weeks back. For the life of me I can’t remember the song but remember thinking it was refreshing not to hear RAOTW for a change.
