Just at a quick glance, I find it interesting that Exit Stage Left by Rush is so high up in there. A live album I always found so sterile and where the tracks simply seemed to mirror the studio versions. But good to see Quo in the top 10

Rory Gallagher's "Irish Tour '74" not even in the Top 20 - if you say so!
Suprised (and chuffed) to see Quo ahead of those critics favourites The Allman Brothers Band. Then again, nothing to do with the critics, this poll.

What I find amusing is the ‘ Live & Dangerous’ entry. Producer saying, as we know, it was 75% an overdubbed studio album but the author still justifying its place 😂 VAR should rule in this ! 😂

It's a great list, but there's room for improvement: The Scorpions were majestic on Tokyo Tapes, not on that later poppy album. There's no Bonamassa! Rainbow is far too low in the list, but I'm glad TC gets a mention, belonging to Rainbow's "definitive line-up" with Rising. Duh!

Did a double take at Made In Japan being number one, becasue I always thought it was the best live album ever, and my views are not particularly wide ranging compared to those of the average dedicated rock fan. It must have something Oddly given that they chose him to comnment, the least interesting bit to me was Ian Paice's drum solo. Somehow I never got him, he sounds clinical to me, I guess I never really got past Bonzo. Led Zep's best live album was the one they never made, long before TSRTS.

Led Zep's best live album was the one they never made, long before TSRTS. Whereas to me Ian Paice is anything but clinical. I've read somewhere he is a really natural drummer, who when recording, does songs in 1 or 2 takes. It's rare for me to hear a drummer on albums, but Paicy is an exeption: to me he just does everything right, his drumming makes me glad!

I guess it's that old chestnut that people like 'lists'. Always have. Top 10 this, top 100 that. They're easy to digest, easy to compare and easy to agree with or criticise. For example, I've said that Exit Stage Left is a bit naff but their first live album, All The World's A Stage, is so much better. But I never voted so I can hardly complain

The band claims that there were only some small details changed afterwards, but Tony Visconti claims almost everything were made in the studio. There are plans to release a box set with all the shows that the album were compilated from, and then we’ll finally see/hear who’s right. Parts of the Philadelphia show is already available at the album ”Still Dangerous” and to my ears there are almost no difference between this and L&D

This list was made to be divisive! [For whatever it's worth (I know, I know - f*%k all!!) then... where's Kansas, where's Zappa, where's Marillion, where's Pain of Salvation, where's The Flower Kings... blah-blah-blah]

The only thing up for discussion is whether that was down to poor recording, poor playing or Tony Visconti being too much the perfectionist. The sessions in Paris happened.
