I personally find these discussions hilarious. Discussions about the merits of relative nobody's filling in for Rossi's tribute, novelty act as if it matters!!! Who really cares? Should this not be in the tribute band section? (And Freddie probably had the more honest and authentic approach in all this: a job, do it and go back to my own band and music and not be involved in a fake pretence) As you find the contents of this board and presumably the contributors so irrelevant and distasteful why not leave and set up your own FF board dealing with the period up to 76 or at a stretch 81? Then you could leave us to hilarious discussions about novelty acts.

In the three or 4 performances I saw Freddie play he never dropped a note.
He played very well in the studio, but I'd have had Rick over anybody on that rhythm guitar.
The Live BBC aquostic gig was probably his best show for me, but he just didn't look like he was interested, he was spot on, but his expression never changed he never looked like it was his idea of fun. I think if you are a live performer, you need to put some heart into it.
Quo wasn't for him, or for us.

From the look of his Instagram account, he's been making music with his band Flawes since around 2015. I thought he'd gone to uni too, but maybe not.
This seems to be their latest effort, bland modern pop to my ears....

I really wanted to like it, wasn't really my cup of tea though. Judging by his playing style when he filled in for Quo I thought he played something like the strokes or something like that haha

Ta for the link, gav and twentytwenty Flawes seem to have at least one album out, although this song isn't on it. It's on a pre-order EP called Reverie due next year. In fact, there's quite a lot of material on iTunes from them. I haven't listened to any of it yet but I will do. In the past, his bands have tended to favour a modern pop sound; very vocal focussed (to me) and not my cup of tea but then why would a band so young be playing music that WAS my cup of tea? I didn't like 20 or 30-year old music when I was in my twenties. Funnily enough, metal growlers Bring Me The Horizon went down this sort of 'pop' route a couple of years back. My step-daughter was gutted. I laughed. A lot

That's rather nice. Not sure how many plays it would sustain. The singer should look into the camera from time to time, and all the hilarious character swapping is a distraction. (Here putting decades of watching TOTP to critical use.) "Down Under" did well with a funny video (on the third try) because it is funny song. Don't do a funny video unless you have a funny song. More heartbreak is required.

A lot Hello Mr Mortified, Ha ing seen his his short musical happenings post Quo, Well isuppose the point is, whether he knows it or not, the highlight of his musical career was happening and he may not know or wasn't bothered about it. That's not a criticism just an observation. Odd, but sommat wonderful to put on your cv I suppose ..

Just had a listen to it. The Flawes track that is. It's not half bad. I'm not 100% mad on the vocals. They're OK but sound like every other male singer I ever hear now. From Chris Martin to Ed Sheerin and everyone in between. But the overall sound I like. Same as Mrs Flittersnoop, I'm not sure how often I'd play it but I like it enough to check out their other stuff.

Wow, that is awful. Your basic everyday annoying modern no-soul pop. Yuck.

I also think Richie plays Caroline too reserved but in his defense Rick didn't always slash it like he later did. The original version is pretty tame compared to later recordings.
