Some more footage from the 70's, 1974 to be specific. This is the same show that was included on the Live! Super Deluxe Boxset back in 2014 Enjoy!

Wonderful stuff. And rare to see them in their pomp. Even grainy old images are better than nothing at all (see what I did there? )

Simply fantastic. Is that Alan without the moustache? Baby face Alan was still going through extended puberty in '74.

I don't know and I don't know where the footage is) United States of America, '73 (Yet to be seen ) Swedish Footage, '73 / '74 Wembley Empire Pool, '74 Sydney Hordern Pavilion, '74 Madrid, '75 Jazz-Bilzen Festival, '76 Glasgow Apollo, '76 (Yet to be seen footage captured on a Super8(?) of the balcony bouncing) Stafford Bingley Hall, '77 Belgrade Pinki Hall, '77

'Yet to be seen', sounds great, especially the US and Apollo ones! Any idea of the timeframe? Presume the clips are in private hands?

The American footage is 8mm, so 4 minutes at max of silent footage. The Glasgow Apollo footage was mentioned by Francis(?) in an interview around the time of the Hello Quo / Frantic Four reunions and I think Alan Parker knew about it whilst making the doc, but apparently it's not the best.

Not the "classic" era but there's also a little bit of (silent) 8mm footage from 1968. Not sure if that's been posted on here before..

Just musing about that 1974 footage of Quo in Sydney and the small groundswell of support Quo must’ve built on the back of their previous tour supporting Slade in ‘73. I think they did an interview on GTK(an ABC show) somewhere around then. The point being it’s quite fascinating how Quo took a chance ( with I’m assuming a shitload of backing/money to come over here) to win over an international audience...and obviously they did. It definitely was an underground movement of support,in 74, as generally (including me)no one had never heard of them until the iconic Down Down was released to the wider public on Countdown, then we were all into Quo.

I cant remember right noe which years, but maybe 1974 and 1976. Which are the Swedish gigs you mention? I know that they played live 1973 in the swedish tv program Oppopoppa together with Manfred Mann. I’ve never seen the Quo songs, but one of the Manfred Mann songs is to find at youtube in absolutely perfect condition.

Breaking up that band should have been a criminal offense.
