I downloaded the new album today and played it twice.
I have to say I like it. Best thing they’ve done in years. Although I was partial to Stiff upper lip.
It’s AC/DC so you pretty much know what to expect. A decent to very good rock album. It rocks fairly hard in places.
If they are your thing well worth a listen.
A very solid 6/10 at present.

Its a lot better than i expected tbh, i kinda thought it`d be Rock or bust pt2 but it blows that out of the water, my only gripe would be some of the songs could do with another minute or 2 on them?

I will have to wait. My streaming service says it's not out til the 13th
I haven't even been remotely looking forward to it so good to see positive comments. I enjoyed rock or bust for a week but never returned

I’ve heard a couple of songs and, really, it’s just AC/DC by numbers to my ears. Now that the true heart and soul of the band, as in Malcolm, has departed, then that’s it for me.. over n out. Best DC album for me will always be Powerage, still fresh and just gets better with age.👍

I had a quick listen online; just the usual minute long samples. It is, of course, precisely what I expected.
I haven't really enjoyed an AC/DC album all the way through in a very long time. Probably Back In Black if I'm honest, although The Razor's Edge was more than half decent. That's not AC/DC's fault, it's mine. I changed; they didn't.
This one sounds as good as any since 1980 on first listen but I'm not sure I'll buy it so it may not get the chance to get into my head.

With this year being such a disaster, it is really good news that AC/DC not only reformed (again!) but have released an album. I am at work at the moment, so Planet Rock is on. It is an AC/DC day on the station today, bliss!

Its funny - I've only discovered ACDC in lockdown, which I know sounds ridiculous, considering they are a more successful version of Quo really, and the two bands have a very similar perceived lack of musical evolution
Because of this I was like th casual Quo fan with their back catalogue. Or a late comer to their music.
A few observations.
1. Their utter reluctance to change is really admirable. 2. Their production by and large is great 3. Powerage and Back in Black are the best albums, then the lead single off most of the latter day albums 4. I like the fact they never did a Thirsty Work
So their new album. On first listen Some of it sounds a bit more of the same - but thats exactly what people want - someone should tell Francis. The overall result is great, like most of their classic albums. No Mans land is really good.
It must be really great being an ACDC fan today

Bought it this morning on vinyl. Will listen at some point.
Massive AC/DC fan but, since Flick Of The Switch, some albums have been hit and miss. Rock or Bust , I listened to once and never again. Blow Up Your Video has one or two good tunes on there. Stiff Upper Lip is good. Razor's Edge is good in places.
Ain't listened to the latest one yet but, looking forward to it

Agree with Freewilly, I signed off after 1983's Flick of the Switch. Big fan of the band for the previous 5 years and saw them on the For Those About to Rock tour. One of the things I miss badly since then is the general lack of any faster paced tracks in their recordings. The pace is very repetitive in most of their latter day tracks. At least Quo can go from boogie to shuffle and back etc etc!

Can we all agree the production on the new album is great. Yeah it's sounding good and a better album overall than rock or bust, although that had a few that really grabbed me at first I can't decide between powerage, highway to hell and let there be rock as my favourite album! With Back in black they did change sound quite radically and (for me, unfortunately) stuck with it. It's a classic album but it's all been hit and miss ever since. I think they tend to have a few really good tracks per album There isn't an album I'd happily listen to all the way through since. on one listen it all sounds good but not special, will probably listen again but I'd be surprised if I went back to it Best album since Black Ice

I guess the main thing is Angus and co. obviously love getting together and simply rocking old school. The band and their song output is nothing like what jettisoned them to stardom. That came primarily from Malcolm and older brother George, along with Harry Vanda, from Albert Studios in Sydney. The chemistry between Malcolm and Angus is incomparable, along with Bons lyrics. Malcolm and Angus have gone on and driven this band to the top of the rock world. AC/DC up to Highway To Hell is so similar to Quo’s up to Blue For You ( or a sneaky RAOTW after the remix) in the bands pureness ...after that, the chemistry of the band has been altered. Mutt Lange got a slower heavier sound out of them but even though their success went through the roof , Malcolm always loved the days of working with his brother George and the bands originally sound. Malcolms main influences were musicians such as Chuck Berry, and The Rolling Stones.

Gave 'em another chance with Flick Of The Switch and that was that. Dipped in and out - mostly out - ever since. It would appear that I fly in the face of popular opinion. Bit of a habit
