A lot of people who should have cataract treatment on the NHS don't get it because someone decides they "don't need it", ie they aren't driving, or doing a job of work, or important, or living alone. They are just unable to look after themselves properly, can't drive, can't read, bump into things and have some family around to keep an eye on them. Shameful. Elderly women are particularly neglected. My MIL had hers done - to this day I don't know if she had it done on the NHS or paid for it herself, but I know she would not have taken it lying down if they said she couldn't ... And would have scraped the money together if she needed it. She'd been wearing glasses for 40 years and suddenly only needed readers ... it fixed all her astigmatisms as well as the cataracts. I had no idea they replace the complete lens. I don't know why he had laser in 2015, it doesn't fix cataracts, and I thought people likely to develop cataracts (they can tell a long time in advance)are better off not having laser surgery for other vision problems (and also you nearly always have to have it done privately as ordinary short and long sightedness are not medical problems, just mighty inconveniences). Still, he's up and about and he's got the money. Might as well enjoy it!
backwater67: Looks like fretbuzzzz has based his sales on BPI sales awards. Back in the 1970s & 80s silver sales were based on minimum 250,000 units sold. (Today silver sales are awarded for 200,000 units)

backwater67: Paul Hirch filled in for Quo when Andy’s wife was unable to tour. Aquostic was a complete different project for Quo. I was referring to a standard regular live gig on stage with session guitarists. Jagger does still take the lead vocal.
