JCQ played the Northcourt Abingdon last night. Some cracking videos on the Official John Coghlans Fans site...including Lockdown which unsurprisingly made the set
Did anyone go? Lucky so and So's if you did! Great to see some live new music. The gig was sold out under Covid restrictions and sounds ace.

It was fabulous! Even though we could not stand up there were plenty of us boogieing in our seats! Even the odd Quo o o o o! Yes it was different and not as we would normally like but it was a live band, playing well with brilliant sound! The set list seem to go down well.... JW, RR, SBYBIL, A SS&W, G&U, SWB, AY, DWMT, Caroline, ROLD, MM, PP, DDMC, Rain and encore Lockdown! It was great to hear Lockdown live! I’m really looking forward to the single coming out! I’ve been lucky to hear the new song they’re releasing with it and it’s awesome!! I was grinning from ear to ear, it was soooo Quo like, in a brilliant non stereotypical way!

Did they play any other of the new songs in the set then ? No, only Lockdown. I’ve heard a recording of the new song. What did you think of the clips posted on FB? Hopefully they’ll be back up your way when all this madness settles down.

Really hope so , but the way it's going it's not likely to be for a while.... sadly.
The clips I have seen are ace. I know numbers were restricted and sat down socially distanced but it still comes across as a great gig.
Did John mention how the album was coming on and when we could expect it?

Album hoped to be released Spring 2021 I think... ...which will be the 50th anniversary of the 'Dog' album. Maybe John's band could record a couple of tracks from that album as part of a bonus disc with some live tracks..

What was it like as a socially distanced gig ? Still not sure I’d want to attend one especially where you have to stay seated Cheers

Still not sure I’d want to attend one especially where you have to stay seated Cheers I'd have thought it's great for short-arses as they can finally have a decent view! More seriously though, the key factor for me would be the quality of the table service from the bar staff

What was it like as a socially distanced gig ? Still not sure I’d want to attend one especially where you have to stay seated Cheers I can totally understand that view. It’s hell not being able to stand up and rock. But in the meantime it seems to be the only option. The audience all seemed to make the best of it as much as possible. I like to think we could emulate those long haired trench coated fans sitting crossed legged with heads down nodding....

One thing I always appreciated in Quo is that Francis was never placed in front of the drummer. Of course, depending on your position, you could have someone in front of the drummer. But Francis' mic was never in the middle of the stage. I can't understand why in John Coghlan's Quo, John Coghlan had a guitarist right in front of him.
Good rendition, nice to hear it live. Just keeps getting a bit slower as the song goes by.
