With Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse. This series for me is fantastic. You do not like me need to know anything about fishing. It is beautifully shot (we really do live in a picturesque country), informative, poignant and very funny, especially Bob Mortimer. A Sunday evening treat!

Watched this series the first time around and fell in love with it... hook, line and sinker! Thinking about buying the book.
Never understood fishing for fun though but each to their own. Possibly put off in the past when I would go along with mates at about 5 in the morning and sit on cold river and lake banks, for hours. My mates took it all very seriously but not so much as a nibble most of the time.
The banter and connection between Bob and Paul had me hooked and going back for more. Interesting to see places I knew well and some that I didn't.

If you can find The Accidental Angler documentary it's an outstanding bit of television. An angler sets out to catch a brown trout within the confines of the M25. It traces his journey through London's forgotten rivers, the last 5 minutes are astonishingly moving.
"a documentary of an angler who spent a week or so angling on all of London's small forgotten rivers to try and catch a speckled trout. This proved all but impossible until he found one and was sobbing with emotion"

Did anyone catch tonight's episode? I thought it very touching. A tad sentimental at the end but in these darkened times, I loved that. We need warmth, connection, as much as we can get these days.

I can highly recommend their audio book on the series,it's narrated by the both of them. Sitting there earphones in chuckling to yourself simply great.
