Funny how that myth has persisted about Tommy Vance making the opening announcement at Live Aid, when in fact it was Richard Skinner.

Funny how that myth has persisted about Tommy Vance making the opening announcement at Live Aid, when in fact it was Richard Skinner. "With this introduction by Richard Skinner still ringing in his ears, Tommy Vance made his own announcement: "And now, to start off sixteen hours of Live Aid, would you welcome, Status Quo!" You're right fb

I was SO HAPPY they played DWMT that I got a pain in my face from smiling Could've lived quite happily without RAOTW [but it was never not going to be played] Best bit of Caroline was Rick disentangling his lead during the intro and making it sound 'right'. [AL's last show for f*%#in' years, who'd have thought? well... except for FR!!]
Other than Queen's set later on, I don't particularly remember that day as being anything special [musically speaking, of course!] There were so many shite pop acts on I gave up between Quo and Queen and couldn't have been arsed to watch afterwards, or the Philly show.
