Still got the t-shirt, which is now just a little snug and, for some inexplicable reason, two programmes I think one must've been my sister's.
I didn't mind the line up but I'd seen the main acts so many times before. Gillan and Saxon were pretty much on the wane because the NWOBHM was coming to an end but they were both still half decent.
Anvil I never took to, nor Hawkwind. And Uriah Heep, even then, I felt had been around for ages.
I thought Quo were poor by their standards but still blew everyone else off the stage.
It was a pretty bleak, wet day for most of it. Plastic pint glasses were being thrown from all angles all day; some of them full of pi$$ so it wasn't a terrific experience all round. We'd travelled overnight to get there at about half six in the morning so I spent about 8 hours sitting about doing fvck all except avoid flying plastic and kidney poisoning
After Quo finished, it was back on the bus for another overnight journey home. I was knackered and slept all the next day. My lovely wife at the time made sure my biking jacket and jeans were cleaned up. Everything probably stunk.
Strangely, sis went back the next year to see Whitesnake. ZZ Top didn't headline; they were third on the bill behind Meat Loaf I think.
So, markquo , if you ever get that time machine; seriously, pick another one
My time machine would visit Cardiff Castle, The "Live" album recording in Glasgow, Lewisham Odeon 1977, NTL Hammersmith(loudest gig I ever attended) 5th night EOTR Hammersmith and FF 15/3/13. Went to 4 of them and wouldn't mind another go.
and FF 15/3/13.
