I like the trams, jaynieeee Best way to travel. But, yeah, one stop on Princes Street wasn't the best planning. Although I dare say "Primark" were chuffed I haven't been into the centre of Edinburgh since February. And it's shaping up to be some time yet the way things are going My one and only copy of Traction by the way

I'll stick to the buses

I got a tram out to the Ingliston Quo gig. Was a bit of a hike from the airport though, I must admit. There doesn't seem to be much transport feeds Ingliston except 'specials' during the Royal Highland Show. I bet anyone else reading this is riveted Incidentally, back on topic for a moment; I got the mag yesterday. There does seem to be quite a bit of new stuff in there, although I did notice that the rare singles section was taken from a previous issue. But I've only flicked through it.

Got this - thought it was OK - I appreciate some work has gone into it, but a lot of it feels like a generic cut and paste job, rather than offering anything of real insight or new. A diverting hour though.

I haven't read it all yet. I'm about half way through. But I thought the article by Ricky Johnson about growing up with Quo as a teenager in the 70's was excellent. Took me right back and it was funny as well.
I haven't actually recognised anything so far from previous issues that has been re-hashed other than having a quick glance at the rare record section, which I have seen before. Although it may have been updated, I don't know. I'd have to check.
There are parts of articles that contain information that I already know but it would be nigh on impossible to have a magazine devoted entirely to the band where everything was exclusively new to me.
I'm enjoying it.

I did notice that the rare singles section was taken from a previous issue. The "Selected" UK Discography (ie. rarities as defined by RC's price guide's criteria) is an expanded updated version of what was published last year, when it was 4 pages. It's now 6 pages. So yeah, it's 50% bigger All the other collecting features are brand new. As is... well, everything else, apart from the four reproduced archive pieces, and half of the Hello! sleeve piece - which I originally did for FTMO, but it now has brand new added Nuff memories. A generic cut n paste job it certainly is not.

Yes apologies I think I'm being a little harsh actually jason I do like the reviews of the albums, and there are some interesting pieces, and photographs. I think im the same as mortified - its difficult to find anything new about the band.

I think im the same as mortified - its difficult to find anything new about the band. Very true - virtually everything has been documented numerous times already. Of course we all have different levels of knowledge and this had to work at beginners' level as well as offering something new to the hardcore. I pushed hard to include as much nerdy detail as possible and went deep (matron) on some of the pieces, but they had to be balanced out by introductory fluff. I think in the worldwide rarities piece I went as obscure as it's possible to go in a mainstream WH Smiths article, covering everything from the start to the present, on as many different formats as possible and as geographically spread as possible, with a narrative that explained what, where, why and how in general collecting terms as well as talking about the specific item - several of which have never been documented before. I think I stuffed quite a lot of insight into that article

Haven't bought it but have had a quick flick through it in Tesco. I've read many of the articles when they were originally printed but the new stuff looked pretty decent. Memo to the bloke who wrote the 'On The Level' piece: you should have checked the writing credits, mate.
