Thanks for that it. I liked it. For me its simple. They're appealing to the feminists. Normally builders whistle at women passing by and say, 'smile'. And the tables are turned. Men half dressed, women in charge. The song is called Modern Romance.

My powers of observation have obviously left me Not mad on the song because it's all about melody for me and this one doesn't hit the spot for my own personal tastes. But I now get the sentiment behind the video. I feel a bit stupid now

was it the panto karaoke vibe of the video & music No, it was the artistic concept. Very difficult to see clearly what was going on at times in the blurred video but it had that humour that reminded me of the Two Ronnies regular sketch called 'The Worm That Turned' from around 1980. Queen's 'I Want To Break Free' in a way as well, one of Francis's favourite tracks. Europeans generally understood the humour but the video did seem to upset sections of American society and MTV, 25 years ago. Not a million miles away with my Mel Brooks analogy!

Love those observations. And yep, Francis may well have been influenced by Queen as well as Mel Brooks. He always talked about Madeleine Kahn didn't he. Here she is on the set of Young Frankenstein with Mel Brooks.

Haven't seen it in years but it is a brilliant pastiche.

I'll hold my hands up here and say that the song itself is not as bad as I remember. I haven't listened to it in decades, despite it being included on all manner of remasters and deluxe editions. Nope. Once and once only (...and also on an unissued/withdrawn Dutch thing)

The CD rip I have only features 2(?) tracks from One Step At A Time and Ships Of The Night for Rossi. Edit; Ships In The Night actually replaced Modern Romance on Disc 3
