Nice cover pic. Hardly 'essential', though. Whoever wrote the description on Amazon seems to think the band have ceased to exist entirely!Must be a hard core '70s fan!

I picked up a vinyl sampler from a record shop of Ain't Complaining before the album's release. Can't remember which tracks are on it though. I'd have to dig it out. No idea why the record store had it either. Never heard of the Army one though. Ain't Complaining was the first Quo CD album I ever bought. I only got my first CD player in 1988. Right, that's enough of that. Or I'll be off wallowing in nostalgia and end up getting a perm now that hairdressers are open again Ooh, if it's like the In The Army Now one, it's possible it contains some earlier mixes too! Probably some of those earlier mixes people have been trying to find (unprocessed vocals on Magic, longer intro on Ain't Complaining, etc.). It's just an advanced DJ Sampler. Nothing different with the tracks. Who Get's The Love, Ain't Complaining, Cross That Bridge and I Know You're Leaving.

So has it been released yet? Think I'm finding an earlier titled collection online. Would like to get this one.

My brother was in Sainsburys a couple of days ago, he took a photo of the CD and sent it to me. It was sitting proudly in Sainsburys album chart at....are you ready....drum roll......number 1(huge gasps from the audience!). It has a quite good cover, the Frantic Four no less!

And there is the reason why these compilations keep appearing....they sell !!
Number 28 for an album which isn’t an official release , full of stuff which most folk have with no promo , no airplay , no gigs, no hoo hah is quite remarkable

I will be part of the Fifth Column second week sales. They did better than Nazareth for this sort of compilation.

Anyone got this? How's the sound? Thin? Dull? Bright? Muddy? Weak? Hollow? Dark? How does it compare to other CDs like the Deluxes or the 2005/2006 remasters? Louder? Quieter?

Got it the other day, I had wrongly hoped it had the single version of 'Going Down Town Tonight' but it's a fair Quo compilation, and not being in track release order makes it better one (oddly I hadn't bought yet another Quo compilation for years) Cost a Fiver btw...

Pretty shoddy that that home demo of GDTT is still getting put out on Quo compilations as a bona-fide Quo track! Though the single version isn't to everybody's taste either, at least it attempts to sound like a full band effort.
