Good afternoon it looks like there's gonna be another status quo compilation in August called essential status quo just like the recent essential thin Lizzy 3cd set by UMC Label

Yep. Just a 3CD Budget release. Think it replaced the Singles CD Boxset release.

Only seems like yesterday when my daughter bought me the 3 CD 'Whatever You Want - The Essential Status Quo' for my birthday!
Bless...your children know you like a band and that is good enough gift wise!... regardless of how many CDs you have with these tracks on them! Though to be fair she was paying attention when looking on the back of the CD cover as it contained a couple of John Eden's Rockin' re-mix tracks and she knew I was very keen on the re-mix.

These things sit in supermarkets at a fiver and sell tens of thousands of units with no fanfare, quietly and effectively keeping the legacy alive as kids buy them for Dad's and Grandad's birthday and Christmas presents. The kids hear them in the house or in the car, some like it, and hey presto there's your next generation of fans. They're a commodity along with baked beans and bog roll. The one that's been around the last few years, Spectrum's "Rockin' All Over The World" (original eh?) collection, has racked up over 100,000 certified sales. They're not aimed at current fans.

mixture of singles and a couple of B-Sides Here's hoping for it to give me some B-sides with decent mastering.

At least it wont end up in a dingy petrol station in the bargain bin with the Anton Du Beke and Shane Richie albums
